No option to just eliminate the small window? Not only will it be difficult to find window treatments, it will be difficult if you want art above your headboard.

Or if you have gutted everything and bought new windows, why don't they match?

If this is where your bed will go, one option would be to just have curtains all along the back wall, one rod or track. Or to just have shades on each window Or to just treat both windows like the same size and have curtains with sheers all the way to the floor, with two separate curtain rods.

I like the idea of Roman blinds.

On one side of my bed I have a high chest, you could do the same under your small window to balance the two.

I would do inside mount Woven Shades with possible valance. BUT, does the bed have to be on that wall? Where is the entry door? Your feet should be pointed toward the entry door while in bed. Very awkward set up of windows. Better to delete the small window if the bed is going to be on that wall.

Thanks everyone! It’s a new build and the architecture was already set when we bought it. Most of the house is really nice. Not sure what the thought was behind this window…. It is definitely the bed wall as there are doors on all the other walls (room entrance across, bathroom and closet entrance on either side).

It still is easy to delete that small window. I would do that ASAP. Yes, you paid for a window you won’t need but it will help in decorating this room tremendously. The amount of light from this window you will never miss.

Btw, putting window treatments on that small window will cost $400-$600 depending on what you do so save that money. Quid-pro-quo.

I totally agree with Flo! Better to fix it now and will be so much easier to work with the layout.

In addition to the shade, as Festermann mentioned, (or instead of), you can simply choose matching curtains for both windows, (being a bedroom I'd choose room darkening) just appropriate sizing, of course. Make sure you have a rod to draw the curtain above the bed.

I like light in a bedroom during the day. Nice that you can have light, but at a discreet height...it being the bedroom. (I hate low windows in a bedroom due to lack of privacy if you want to keep curtains and shades open.)

Taking the window out is a drastic option that leaves a darker room. If you want the window changed, and have the money to do so, it'd be nice if it opened, (and had a see through screen), rather than the picture window style it seems to have, since it could give fresh air at night on those nice nights
