How nice!

I made zucchini brownies.

And zucchini noodles.

And zucchini relish.

And zucchini boats.

And zucchini potato pancakes.

Good grief, why do i keep doing this to myself???

I love when people do this. See it a lot in our neighbourhood. Zucchini, cucumbers, cabbages, pumpkins and sometimes dahlias from a neighbour who has at least 50, if not more dahlias planted. Perk of living in the country

I give my excess to my next door neighbor or take them to the club for anyone to take.

This time of year almost every driveway around us has a cooler/table similar to yours!! Abundance is a blessing to be passed on! I send all my excess with DH to work. The lunch room has many people sharing their crops this way.

No street stand here but the neighbors, family, and friends get all of the excesses. Before I retired I'd take excess tomatoes, melons, etc to work. My x-coworkers want me to come back for a part time job, ha, ain't gonna happen.

I thought about putting out a table at the end of my driveway. Usually I give them to my daughter, or take them to work. Last year I gave some to the neighbor next door to me. I have an overabundance of spaghetti squash right now on the vine. I'll keep a few but there are at least 17 of them on the one plant! More squash growing of different varieties. Unfortunately no summer squash. The ones I planted got either eaten by birds or over watered by drenching rains earlier in the Springtime. The last bunch I planted actually sprouted okay but when I looked a couple days ago Chipmunk Charlie ate all the leaves off so not sure they will come back. Yesterday I planted more seeds and put a grill cover overtop of them hoping to keep him out.

That is why I plant yellow summer squash. It is not as bad as zukes.

We put boxes of lemons, persimmons and anything else we have too much of at the end of our driveway with a free sign. They always disappear. Once we got a thank you note and a bottle of wine in our mail box. What a nice surprise.

Love that! It's so nice when people share their excess fruit and veggies.

Though not free, one of our neighbors puts out containers of beautiful avocados. They put them out with brown paper bags and a container for the cash (50 cents each). It's pretty much the honor system but it must be working since they continue to do it. They're very large Hass avocados, so the cost is a bargain. They sell out quickly. I can only imagine if they were free. The entire box of them would disappear in a blink! We have an avocado tree but I tend to hoard them. :-)

We now have a smaller garden since we've moved into town, but there's a large community garden down the street and they have a stand with an umbrella where they put excess produce free for the taking. We occasionally bring a bag of zucchini and sneak it onto the table, but it's always gone by the end of the day.

We also give it to non-gardening neighbors.

Kudos to Rose and the othe generous KT people here, I think it is wonderful that you share!

ROFL! That was me too, until I retired. Because I am a seed steward, I grow many different vegetable varieties each year for seed... and the side effect of that is plenty of excess to give away. There was enough for the whole plant several times a year. This will be the first year my former co-workers will be going without... I'll probably stop by at least once to share a box of veggies & say "hi". For now though, I'll be sharing with our adult children, some friends, and our neighbors. That, and A LOT of culinary experimentation.

Yes, my former boss wants me back too. After I get past my reflexive "are you nuts???", I may actually consider working part-time over the winter. Probably a better source of exercise & social interaction than a gym membership. And given that they are paying well to find people in the current environment, the pay wouldn't hurt either. ;-)

Any more I have a very small garden and anything that I can't share with my children, I will most likely freeze or dehydrate.

I had to stop growing sungold tomatoes when I retired! I was bringing 1/2 gallon twice a week to the office!

It is nice.

We have someone here who TRIES to do that here and it just doesn't work. Why, you ask? It's not only a busy road, is two lane and old, so it's really narrow. One would have to stop all of traffic to get the tomatoes they leave out. So they go bad every time. Though, I don't think I've seen any this year. Maybe they've figured it out 🤔

There is a place near me here that puts out excess vegetables at a stand free for any who want them, but also has a sign welcoming people to bring a leave their excess vegetables to share with others.

I don't grow zucchinis at all since I'll always be given a few by friends, and honestly I don't love them so much to want more than that.

Yeah, I like summer squash too, but it can become too mush of of goo thing.
