I might consider adding more wood facing to the space to make it a more interesting space. The footboard on these beds really creates a hurdle in the room and I would consider the frame and the headboard without the footboard installed.

If you can easily remove the crown molding, I’d look into that first. It creates more of a ‘block’ look than differing paint colors. My solution to most everything is wallpaper, so if this was my room I’d remove the crown and wallpaper walls and ceiling in some light and wispy pattern (that’s a lie, I’d go full on toile) or grasscloth .

How ever I painted I would feature the beams. Too bad their natural wood. Who removes crown??? BLASPHEMY!!

Yes, it’s too bad THEIR beams were painted, in a natural state THEY’RE really pretty up THERE. 😬
