You know I like your pinks. It has been a close race between the rebloom scape on Dearest Valentine and Indian Ripple as to which would pop out the last bloom, but DH finally finished this week while Indian Ripple still has a few buds to go.........I must say though to get a clump full of flowers like Last Chance For Romance this late in the season, is pretty astounding........My Crape Myrtles are lucky to be alive after the arctic blast, and I have many large dead trunks that need to be cut out now that I can see the forest for the trees so to speak. Do you all have problems with Crape Myrtle scale?....... Maryl

Last Chance for Romance is so pretty! nice to have a full clump of flowers this time of year. Your seedlings have really been impressive with the rebloom you are getting. Rose of Sharons don’t mind the heat, do they?

Kate and Maryl - It is nice to have a full clump of blooms so late in the season. Last Chance for Romance is running about three weeks later than usual this year.

Maryl - I've never heard of Crape Myrtle scale. I've never had any problems with this crape myrtle.

Maryl, I have a neighbor who asked me to look at her crepe myrtle because it had

”stuff” all over it. It is a fairly young tree, only about ten feet tall with three trunks. It was covered on every inch with scale. I have never seen a tree so covered-the trunks and branches were almost snow white. I do not have it on mine, thankfully.

Not much blooming here, I’m enjoying all of yours! Love Last Chance for Romance, yes , still waiting for it to bloom here……I have a double Rose of Sharon blooming now with rose colored flowers…..the hummingbirds love it

Sherry - The hummingbirds here much prefer the rose of sharon bush with single flowers. I have the lilac double and white double. Two years ago, I had one of the single-flowered ones taken out to see if that would decrease the number of Japanese beetles in the yard. I think it did may some difference. I may take out the other single-flowered one next year. I hope your Last Chance gets buds soon!

The reblooms are still showing off, aren't they so nice the seedlings are too. Last Chance For Romance is a nice clump shot too.

What gorgeous pics. Wow, your seedlings seem to just go on and on. . I have just recently started researching on Crape Myrtle bushes/trees. They are in full bloom in our area too. I plan to get one and plant it here. Love the blooms on it. I did plant Rose Of Sharon a couple of months ago and they are doing okay.

Nice daylily blooms. It's good to see such lovelies late in the season.

I love your crape myrtle. We would love to grow some but they are not reliably hardy here. We bought 3 small ones in Florida one year and one survived for several years before a cold winter did it in. Every once in a while you will see one blooming around town. We grow several bushes of Rose of Sharon. I always thought they were neat when I was a kid. Bob's grandparents grew a hedge of them and some we grow now are from the old home place.

Wow, you still have nice ones going on! Dancing Flamingo X Bubblegum Delicious is my favorite of these. Love the color combo. Strawberry Alarm Clock and Grandma's Smile X Dearest Valentine are close seconds.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone. Last evening when I went out to mow, there were two buck deers in the backyard ready to devour that Last Chance for Romance clump. They didn't run when I yelled and waved my arms. But I kept coming toward them and growled like a dog. That did the trick, and they ran like crazy. I sprayed my remaining daylily buds with Deer Out, and this morning all the buds were still in place.
