30" induction range options
We've narrowed it down to the Cafe double oven range, the Miele, the Fischer & Paykel Classic, or the Bertazzoni Master. The Miele is almost double the cost of all the others. Is it really worth it? Any reviews or pictures from folks who have one of these induction ranges? Personally, I like the look of the Bertazzoni and the Fischer & Paykel, but worry how is the quality/reliability? Cafe seems to have the best features, but I like it's look the least. I don't like the way it lines up with the cabinet and counters in most photos I've seen. You can see that the side of the unit is a different color/material than the front and that kind of bothers me.

@izzbudcan23 The blomberg looks super basic, so I'm not sure why it's over $3k? No menu display, racks are old school (not telescoping) kind, drawer is storage rather than warming.
@Evan Jensen yeah, i know - it's basic in terms of features, BUT it's very solid and seems well made. also, unlike the bertazzoni, there IS a preheat light to let you know when the oven is at temp. still, is there an option that you feel is better, in the "premium" category of induction ranges? @wdccruise, i'm ok without the timed-cook and timer features - i don't use those - but wonder if you have any knowledge of the blomberg itself?
- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
@izzbudcan23 Based on my examining a gas F&P Pro / DCS 30" at the local shop, that seemed very sturdy and well built. They didn't have any blomberg to compare with on hand.
The Miele ranges are AMAZINGLY solid, and their appliances all built to last. But also very complicated on features. Which obviously don't matter to many.
The F&P seem definitely better built than the Café, but the oven is not "american sized" (ie 5+ cu ft). Still adequate from my examination.
I'd personally not want a Bertazzoni... they have limited "UI" in that there's not a lot of feedback to the user on what's happening inside. Plus there is limited lifespan experience at this point. They may be grand ranges, but I'm waiting on more time in the market.
@Evan Jensen agree re oven size - i looked at those FPs on ebay (very tempting) but the oven at <4 cubic feet is indeed on the small side. i am not feeling great about the bertazzoni either, b/c of the lack of data. well, one of these days soon i'm going to have to choose, and w all the info and input from houzzers, i feel like i'm about as well informed as i can be!
I agree with you about the timer, it's not useless but it's not important to me. The blomberg oven is less wide though ~ 22" of clear space- so check the size of your normal cookie sheet, etc. They kept the oven depth to themselves.
The thing that would both me is their range doesn't have a bridge zone for griddles or big pans that take two burners.
It you rarely need two ovens, think about a Breville countertop oven (about $150-$375 depending on features) or an Anova Precision, convection, steam, and more for about $600. - 4 years ago
I initially ordered fhe double oven Cafe, but backlog issues brought me to the Blomberg. i saw it in the showroom, and it felt really solid and well built. even the cafe felt a little flimsier. huge fan of being completely analog, and appreciate the simple design. delivery is scheduled for two weeks from now .
Jason, I hope you'll please update us when your range arrives. I'm eager to read about your initial impressions and your experience going through the learning curve. There's so little info about Blomberg/Beko on the internet (at least in English). It will be nice to get some detailed first hand reports!

I have had a Kenmore induction range for 12+ years at home and now have a Samsung induction range in my vacation home. My personal opinion is -- induction is induction. They will basically all cook the same. Maybe you are paying for other feature on an upscale range....
C P
Original Author4 years agoI decided to consider 36" induction ranges, since we have plenty of room for one. This Verona 36" is not much more expensive than the Bertazzoni 30" pro I was leaning towards getting. https://www.appliancesconnection.com/verona-vdfsie365ss.html
- 4 years ago
Looks like a very nice range. I have not read this entire thread, however make certain your electric circuit can handle the power requirements. That unit you listed requires a 50 Amp circuit. The center hob has a rated output of 5500 watts in boost. Pretty powerful unit. combined with the other hobs and oven in use will have a serious draw on power.
C P
Original Author4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoI went to look at ranges again. Unfortunately, I have not been able to see the Verona range locally anywhere. I was curious about the internal height of the ovens on the Fischer Paykels vs the other ranges. Most of the ranges had ~14 inches between the top of the bottom-most rack and the top burner element. The Fischer Paykel contemporary series only had ~8-9 inches of interior height (and I believe the classic series has the same dimensions). The Fischer Paykel professional series did have a larger oven, I want to say the height was more like ~10-11 inches, but can't remember exactly. The Bertazzoni was about ~13 inches.
- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
Christine, thanks for noting the dimensions. This is a useful thread, and I look forward to hearing which you pick and how you like it.
I'm very slowly deciding between induction ranges too and have a weakness for Bertazzoni and Fisher-Paykel, but it's hard to find information on them.
Am also curious to hear about Blomberg. I had their 24" washer and condensing dryer in my last house. Bought them despite the lack of reviews. They worked well. I did have to call their customer service number to find a tech.
Christine, this is a great thread. I just went through the same process for our kitchen remodel. I decided on the Cafe single oven; the lower oven on the doubles was so low I thought it would get irritating over time. We have 8 months, so surely it will arrive by then. Right?! Eek. We're also doing a countertop model convection microwave that will go inside a cabinet. My thought is I'll use that as a second oven if necessary. I've never had two ovens so not sure how much that will get used but a nice feature to have. I love the look of the Bertazzoni too but it doesn't have a warming drawer. I also looked at the KitchenAid but it doesn't have a warming drawer, and there were reports of melting with the self clean feature. It's hard to find a traditional looking induction range! That Verona is very nice looking.

My Kenmore Elite that I bought 11+ years ago when there were only 2 choices for induction! (Kenmore Elite, GE Profile) seems to be dead. Cooktop still working but control board for the oven is smoked and I'm told if I join the waitlist for a replacement I might possibly have it by June 1. I've been out shopping and there are not a lot of 30" induction ranges available without a wait. I'm going to look at an Electrolux ECFI3068AS this afternoon but price seems steep. Bertazzoni has a backorder and no self clean plus the small oven is a big negative. I looked at the Beko which I liked but so little data and reviews makes me hesitate. Don't really like the Bosch. I just called the dealer to find the delivery time-frame for the JennAir. No call back yet which I am not taking as a positive sign. I note Costco has the LG LSE4616ST on sale until tomorrow. Don't need or want the fancy features but it is available and soon.
I'm wondering if anyone on this thread has any updates. I don't mind waiting a month or two since I have a working stovetop and a convection microwave but can't see waiting longer than that. Appreciate the help in advance. - 4 years ago
When I was looking recently I had thought about the LG, but saw an in-depth review that indicated the oven really bakes unevenly.
Julieste. Thank you for that feedback. I bake bread regularly so that is a problem for me. Just leaving home to look at the Electrolux and everything/anything else they have. I called the other dealer I visited on Sunday and found they are quoting 3-5 weeks on the JennAir but I'd have to go look at it again.
I spoke with our local appliance dealer yesterday and he sings the praises of Beko. He also said for his own home he is purchasing Thermador appliances. I don't think Thermador has an induction range though. The Thermador Freedom cooktop looks amazing. This particular appliance dealer also does repairs and the salesman said his repair person is very impressed with the temperature accuracy on the Thermador throughout the oven cavity.
@Lee Picard did you see an electrolux in person after all? what were your impresssions?
After a long pandemic pause, we are looking at induction ranges again and have decided that the F&P oven is too internally short in height on everything except the Pro line, but that there’s too much needless digital fluff in that one’s brain.
Are now looking mostly at 30” Electrolux. I did consider 30” Dacor, because fhey have 5 elements instead of the usual 4 on top. But their reviews are exceedingly spotty and bad for part availability after 5 years or more, afaik. Seems to be since Samsung took over the brand.
There is an open box red Viking 5 on ebay ATM, which am also idly watching. But have read iffy things about how noisy the viking fans are. - 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
@Evan Jensen I saw the Electrolux as a gas version. He did not have the induction on the floor. I think I ruled it out yesterday. If I felt confident the internals would be reliable and as attractive as the exterior I would go for it but after researching on line I don't trust it to go the distance without problems. Cost is $5299 plus I would buy the optional 9" backsplash they offer. I also went back and looked at the Jenn Air again yesterday. I don't understand how that and the Kitchen Aid have a warming draw that has openings to your floor. The F&P, Bertazonni, Bosch have small ovens - around 4.7 cu ft. No matter how attractive they are, just too small for me.
A few days ago I had looked at the Beko at Yale Appliance. Never heard of them but in stock. I like the way it looks. I like that it has well placed knobs and simple to operate and very important, I like the placement and size of the hobs on the cooktop. 5.7 cu ft oven. When I was looking at the Electrolux in a different store, the saleman suggested I look at the Blomberg. I declined. I should have, because what I discovered last night is that Blomberg and Beko are basically the same range (same company as Blomberg a German company was bought by the parent company of Beko. I compared the specs - yes they are!) but the Beko is $3699 and while I initially hesitated to spend that on an unknown, last night I found the Blomberg locally for $3199. I also found some positive reviews for the Blomberg so I am starting to think that might be the way to go. I can't wait 8 months for a new oven as I currently only have my stovetop and convection microwave. I was actually thinking of posting today to ask if anyone has taken the plunge on either of these ovens and saw @JJ Mekai (thank you for the feedback) posted they heard good things about the Beko and hope it was someone other than Yale Appliance. Because they are unknown they are available.
Would love feedback from anyone who can help with this decision.
@Lee Picard can I ask what you're typically cooking that the really large oven size is a concern? I've "lived" with an old 30" oven with who knows what size interior and although I've often wanted 2 ovens for temp flexibility, I've never really been concerned about the size. I love hearing more about how other people cook to expand my horizons,
All - this thread has been super helpful. After many starts and stops over too many years to count I think we're finally ready to kick off our remodel project. I wanted a Cafe double-oven, but given all the supply chain issues, I don't think that's the best option anymore. - 4 years ago
@Lee Picard thanks for the feedback!
im also curious what you cook that needs nearly 6 cu ft of oven? i know we’ve never filled our current 5.3 cu ft gas oven.
also, you dont mention the blomberg/beko utter lack of readouts. needing a second thermo inside or not knowing the precise oven temp isnt an issue for your baking? theres no way to get very precise temps off a knob with wide gradation and no screen display of temp, id think - 4 years ago
@Evan Jensen @chiefy A lot of food at once. Mother of 3 grown sons plus hubby - they eat a lot. Holiday time, I just stuff it all in there!! Sometimes I am cooking huge volumes if everyone is home or I'm entertaining. Not often, but when you need it you need it!
I read on a different thread that while you don't see the temp as it warms up (which I have now and it is a feature I love) that the light blinks until you reach temp then stays on and know you are at temp. I think I will have to learn to use an oven thermometer. We are spoiled by current technology. My older ovens had none of these features, but then I never fried a computer board and had to get rid of an otherwise perfect appliance! I guess it will be like going back in time!! There is no perfect solution - especially now under pressure - but I need to choose based on availability, layout of hobs/burners on top (I VERY often have two big pots on at once), reliability and price. FYI, I noticed on the Bertazzoni you get a warm to hot dial but no exact temp and I thought that was crazy!
I am going to look at the Bloomberg asap but for now assuming it is basically the same. I'll give you feedback afterwards. And at some point I just have to pull the trigger. - 4 years ago
@JJ Mekai Thank you for that feedback. Really appreciate. Just called the local store that has the Blomberg. Salesman confirmed the Beko and Blomberg are basically the same product. They have sold 6 or 7 of the induction and says people who bought them are happy with them. Another great thing, they have it in their warehouse and I could get it in a couple of weeks. Carefully thinking it over

We got the Cafe 30 inch stainless steel induction (single oven model) - at a used appliance place near us (Baltimore) and it is awesome. You may want to check resale/used places - the one we got was never-used, just dusty. Saved us a ton of money also - we got the induction Cafe 30 range for 600$.
I found it by finding a white version of it in Facebook marketplace - I called to discuss and go see the white - turns out they also had stainless but hadn't priced/posted it yet. We went to see it the next morning and brought it home in my minivan.
We feel like we got the deal of the century on it - it was still factory-wrapped inside.
We had the Electrolux freestanding induction range from 2013 before - also really liked it - but the Cafe is a huge upgrade for us. The Electrolux only lasted 8 years for us - one of the circuit boards blew out. We also had the Electrolux all-fridge and freezer - fridge died, was replaced and died again over the last few years. - 4 years ago
@Roberta Long I noticed that you only had the Electrolux for 8 years. Love lots of things about it but I question the reliability over the long haul. It pains me that I have an oven I love and I'm getting rid of it at closer to 12 years when it's in great condition because I can't get a the computer board that controls the oven. Passing on the Electrolux is the right decision.
@Lee Picard May i ask which Yale Appliance location you went to? I’m interested in these stoves too, Hanover is closest to me.
@Barrheadlass I was at the Yale Appliance in Framingham. They had the Beko, JennAir, Wolf, Miele, GE and Bosch on the floor. Interestingly, when I looked on the Blomberg website they have Yale listed as a dealer but Yale only carries the Beko. FWIW I found the Blomberg in Bedford for $3199 which is $500 less than the Beko - same stove. I did call the person I deal with at Yale and ask if they can get me the Blomberg and I haven't heard back. Also, with my own research I have learned that I can get wings (side pieces that lap over the counter so you don't get spills between stove and counter) plus a backsplash piece for the Blomberg. Since I have 4" granite backsplash and an opening in the space for the oven this is huge (also available for JennAir and Electrolux just fyi).
Just soliciting opinions. I have not committed yet, but as I said the other day am leaning towards the Blomberg range. The in stock/original range has a storage draw which I admit I will use. My current range has the storage draw. The pro line which is identical to the Beko has legs. You lose the storage but have a better aesthetic. Would you lose the storage (which I admit I like) for the IMO nicer looking range. Would order backsplash and side wings with either option. Torn. BTW every other range in consideration has a storage/warming draw.
The eternal form vs function debate. I looked at the 2 and personally, they don’t look that much different. In your layout how visible will the legs be?
And how much will you miss the warming drawer? For actual warming? Is there enough dedicated storage space elsewhere in your kitchen? And it looks like the warming drawer puts the bottom of the oven higher than the “professional” version does. Is reaching lower a concern? And is there a meaningful difference in cu ft? - 4 years ago
@chiefly Exactly. Form vs function. There is an island in front of the stove so not all that visible. A friend of mine just pointed out to me that easier to clean with a draw than legs as you'll need to clean under the range for the pro . The draw for this range is storage only (have a warming draw now and almost never use it except as storage for broiler pan). I have plenty of storage but nature abhors a vacuum and I'll use the space if I have it. Same cu ft. Reaching lower not an issue but after you bring that up I do note that there is a 1.5" difference in height and that gives me something else to consider. You're right. They don't look that much different. Thank you.

Original Author4 years agoWe ended up purchasing the Bertazzoni 36" PROF365INSXT back in Nov 2021. Our project is still in progress, so we don't have our kitchen completed yet and I have yet to use the new range. We are hoping it will be done by end of July.

I've been waiting to comment but saw Christine's comment this morning so I will update now. I did end up ordering the Blomberg induction and I have had it for about a month. Not going to lie. It came with a problem. There are two tiny lights that indicate 1) the oven is on, and 2) the oven is up to temperature. This did not work from delivery and I also can not turn the main oven light on and off using the switch. Waited a few weeks for a service call (I did not consider these major issues and was willing to wait) and now am waiting for a part. I have been cooking quite a bit a and testing the unit out thoroughly.
Here is what I've learned. I have an oven thermometer so I have used it to confirm the oven is at temp although the unit beeps three times when it is at temp (it does seem to take a long time relative to my old unit). I've baked a number of loaves of bread - yeast and quick, cookies, big casseroles like lasagne, meat, chicken and oven roasted lots of vegetables. While I am very comfortable using the bake setting I have not quite figured out the induction. I believe I have to let it come to temp and beep at me 3 times because as it heats it seems as though it gets hotter and then settles back down. It does not cook the same as my old oven though that is to be expected. More on that with the next update. Also, I do like the placement of the burners on the cooktop and the amount of room in between. With my old unit both large burners were up front. Here one is in front and the other in back. And also btw, it may have knobs but the digital indicator on the cooktop tells you the power level 1-9, P (power) or simmer so no guess work involved.
Love the way the oven looks. I did end up ordering the wings and the backsplash. Don't have either of those items yet although the wings are in but I'll wait to get both at the same time. I would almost cancel the backsplash but as my husband pointed out we don't have tile on the wall behind and that's why I ordered it. Pictures will be uploaded once it is all together. I'm not sure if this is what I would have ordered if I could have chosen anything with a reasonable delivery time but overall am happy with the unit. Feel free to ask any questions. - 3 years ago
@Lee Picard 6 months in how do you like the Blomberg? Oven light issues resolved?
@ Ed Wiltse Sorry for the delay in responding to you but I wanted to have a few minutes to give you a thoughtful and thorough answer. First time my response did not post but here is the redo.
Oven light issues are resolved but before I got that part I used the self clean and the door locked at the end of the cycle. We could not open the door and the appliance store couldn't either which left us waiting for 2 parts. That seemed unreasonable so the store asked Blomberg to replace the range and they did! Everything arrived working as it should and I have been happily cooking and baking ever since. No problems with the new unit so I likely got a lemon the first time around. While I was not happy the initial unit had problems, it did make me happy that Blomberg chose to replace the unit. My appliance store was amazing in dealing with this too.
Still very much like the placement of the induction burners on top and they work well. The oven is noisy but does a good job in bake and convection bake which I use all the time. I cook most evenings and bake frequently. Still like the size of oven. Holds a lot of food which is great when cooking for a crowd. I do like the backsplash which was a great solution to having space to fill as we had the 4" granite backsplash.
If I had the choice of any oven made would I chose this again? Not sure, but it's working and I'm able produce everything I want to make. Would love a timer, but in the grand scheme of things not a deal breaker.
Working well and does a good job cooking and baking. Happy to answer any specific questions you might have. - 3 years ago
@Lee Picard thanks for the thorough reply! Quick follow up: when you say the oven is noisy I assume you mean the convection fan? I've seen lots of complaints in reviews about induction range stovetops being noisy but this is the first I've heard about a noisy oven...
Ed Wiltse, we returned a Viking induction range because the oven fan was so noisy, amongst other things. We got the Miele instead, which is much quieter.
@Ed Wiltse I do mean the convection fan. I say oven because you only hear it when the oven is on! It's just part of the joy of cooking and baking with convection!

@jason Hsieh: trying to decide between blomberg and electrolux (have decided against bosch):
how has the blomberg been? pros? cons? ty
- 3 years ago
1. i prefer the power level indicator on the stovetop, easier to see; the display bit on the bosch (his8055u is the one i was looking at) is harder to see - have to step back to see it well despite its being angled
2. really really like the burner arrangement on the blomberg and the 11" burner: i use a 12" skillet a lot
3. as someone mentioned in a review i read somewhere, the display location on the bosch makes it harder to slip towels over the oven handle
4. less self-cleaning capability than either th electrolux or blomberg
- 3 years ago
@Lee Picard
Have to make a decision shortly on the blomberg BIR34452SS: how are you feeling about it now?
Overall it is great and I will say that no question I'd pick it over the Electrolux which is what you are looking at.
I had one more issue after my last update 9 months ago. The storage draw latch broke. I contacted Blomberg and they stood by the product and sent someone out to fix it quickly. No problem since.
I have cleaned my oven since getting the new unit and that has gone smoothly.
When I have a crowd I literally have all three oven racks full of food and I like the capacity of the oven. I also really like the burner arrangement on this unit. As you know it has a big one in front and back and same with the smaller ones. That is a better arrangement than on my previous unit where the big burners were side by side. - 3 years ago
@ Lee Picard
Bingo, thank you so much.
Pleased to hear about continued good response to any issues
good to hear about the cleaning
and yes , the burner arrangement is what originally attracted me to it
off to order it - again thank you
(Are you the one who mentioned Yale Appliance? If so, you're prob in Mass., as I am, though this is for our house in Maine.)
