Azalea & Rhododendron Garden

I live in zone 7 and have an area that is high bright shade when the trees are leafed out . But between the time the leaves fall and then come back, the area is at least part sun. Is that enough sun for a rhododendron? I have azaleas in in the same situation and they bloom.

P.S. I forgot to say it will be in container if that if that affects the amount of sun needed.

Should be fine. The vast majority of rhododendrons appreciate some shade (azaleas are just a form of rhododendron) and many prefer it.

And because it is in a container, I would limit the amount of midday sun it receives. I am presently attempting to revive a containerized rhody for a relative, whose roots got cooked in in a lot of sun and hot temps. It's a bigger issue in a black plastic nursery pot but can happen with any container.
