Rust on fig leaves. Use Sevin Spray ?

Is Sevin spray harmful to fig leaves or the bush?

I have rust spots on my leaves and want to kill the microbes causing it.

Rust is a fungus, is your Sevin spray a fungicide? If so, what does the label say?

Short answer - No. Sevin is an insecticide. Rust requires a fungicide.

To my surprsie, gal, there is a Sevin insectcide/fungicide spray.

Thanks guys. Great comments. I think I will use a natural fungicide called Bonide 775.

Well, that's pretty misleading!! Both Daconil (which is a registered brand name) and Sevin (also a registered brand name) are manufactured by the same company but they are not the same product. If you check their website under 'Sevin', that product doesn't even show up.

(And if you read the product description printed by TSC in that link, it only refers to it as Daconil and being a fungicide. No other mention of Sevin or with any insecticidal properties. It's not even like they mixed the two together)

Let's try and make it even more confusing for everyone! 😖
