Hi,

I got this Pilea two~ weeks ago. It had 1-2 leaves which had some kind of holes in them, but the others looked fine and in good shape. I watered it for the first time 10 days ago (when the soil felt dry, it was damp when I got it from the nursery until that point). During the first week, before I even watered it for the first time, it started losing leaves (new leaves were turning black). Checked the soil yesterday and it was bone dry & very compact like it knew better days, so repotted in a 2:1 cactus soil - perlite mix and gave it a thorough watering. Tried to save as many of the tiny hair roots as possible. One of the stems had no leaves left on it so I tried potting it in a different pot - seems to be dead already after just one day (turned all black).

It is sitting next to a north facing window (blinded, no direct sun, say medium light).

This is a week later (before watering, you can notice the holes on the leaf and the blackened two leaves on the back which were fine just a week before):

And this is today after repotting & watering again. Not many leaves left, and the ones left don't look good & some have dry tips (which showed up today, a day after repotting):

Is there anything I can do to save it? It was supposed to be an easy to care plant but of all the other plants I have this little guy is the only one giving me serious trouble ☹️
