I would hang a mirror on one side and a coat hook on the other and keep it simple.

Yes, the rad overs are overkill here. There are simpler, less bulky ways to hide them. Do you have any pix of how they rads actually look?

What a lovely space! But those rad covers are unnecessarily huge. They muddle the architecture by extending above the wainscoting and covering part of the sidelight windows. It looks cramped when it really is a light-filled space with beautiful trim work. Any chance they could be replaced?

If you're stuck with them, I would not do two mirrors. A mirror reflecting another mirror is not a great look. You could do a mirror on one side and a lovely piece of art or grouping of art on the other - or just leave it empty. On top of the covers, think about a small lamp (very welcoming in the evening), a green plant, maybe a tray for keys. The shelves could be very simple - a couple books, a silver bowl. The baskets you have now look too long - like they barely fit. I would also shy away from anything breakable that could get bumped when guests are coming in and out.

Can you remove the radiator covers - or at least shorten them so they are the height of your chair rail? They are too tall/bulky and really take the view away from your beautiful molding and doors. Place a large round mirror on one side and either artwork or coat hooks on the opposite wall. If you remove the covers, you could hang a shelf under the mirror to place keys, etc....

I like them better than the covers. You might be able to replace them with smaller more up to date ones unless you're trying to preserve the home as it was. You must live in a really cold climate where they wanted the entry to be super toasty! Perhaps if you've got other heating sources now, you could remove them, or pare down to only one. Is the whole house heated by rads?

I like the radiators better than the covers. They look to be painted the same color white as the trim and wainscot. It's a clean and charming look. Just hang coordinating art above each side and enjoy the beautiful space.

While the cover seem overly large, they do provide space to put things down entering or leaving the house. So I would keep them, if there is no space for a slim table in the foyer.

Thanks all for the feedback. I think I also prefer the clean look of just the radiators. Of course my husband prefers the covers. We actually rarely enter and exit through this area as the back door leading to the driveway is our landing spot with shoe rack, keys, masks, sunglasses etc. So I don’t have a real need for an entry way table

Looks much better without the covers! If it's not a heavily used entrance, I would simply add a mirror on one side, art on the other, and a colorful, larger rug. Wallpaper above the wainscoting would also be amazing, if that's your jive. Something that pulls in colors from adjoining rooms and adds some vibrancy and life would be amazing. There is SO MUCH good wallpaper out there these days - from quiet to bold and everything in between.

Beautiful entry. You really don't need anything in it other than a good no slip rug (and no stub/stumble edges). You could keep a small square or rectangle wipe-your-feet-rug and then in area between the cased openings consider adding an interesting round or oval or square one with your favorite colors (also non slip and with no stub/stumble edges).

Prefer seeing the radiators. For decor, you don't "need" that shelving; it's higher than the wainscoting and both of them likely could be put to better use elsewhere.

Were you using the shelving as a charging station or place to "drop" keys and sunglasses, etc.? because, if so, there is another option that might could work in your limited space -- perhaps a small narrow version of this on the wall.

OR. You could block the view of the end of the radiator from inside the house by adding a pair of small narrow cabinets the same height and depth as the radiators on the indoor side of the entry -- a plant stand cabinet (permitting you to add a living plant or two to the entry) and with at least one drawer that could serve as a charging station (and more drawer or have shelves for baskets for collecting other pocket items). Any cabinet you like that meets your needs could serve the purpose, preferably one portable enough to easily move farther away from the radiator when it is in use:
