Garage storage help

My garage has concrete walls up to about 10-ft high, and then a finished wall another 6-ft or so above the concrete. I would like to have wall-hung storage at an accessible height, but I am worried about drilling into concrete. Really worried - so worried that I don't think I'd ever do it.

What would be really great would be a way to attach something to the finished wall that supports shelving on the concrete wall. Has anyone seen something along those lines?

I should think you could hang (very securely) some long 2x4s or even metal standards. Only trouble is they are going to wiggle back and forth so the entire unit may not seem terribly secure and solid.

What bothers you about drilling the concrete? A hammer drill and some lead anchors would make short work of it.

Mostly I'm concerned about creating cracks or holes in the concrete.. I had a couple of small cracks previously, and prior to filling with hydraulic cement (I think that's what it was) water leaked into the garage via the cracks.

I don't think a lead anchor pounded into a 1-1/2" deep hole to hold a screw is going to compromise the concrete wall, if the cement is otherwise in good shape.

Wouldn't expansion bolts, such as redheads, be better?
