Get laminate. It's more scratch proof and better for the environment down the road. I work in the flooring industry and recent reports are eluding to "LVP better watch out, laminate is making a comeback." We did cortec in FL with a 100 pound labrador. We replaced the wood look porcelain tile. Dog doesn’t hurt it, we don’t care about coming in wet from the pool. How ever, it’s not bulletproof. Moving furniture will scratch it as did the dog crate, things I never worried about with tile.
If the sub floor isn’t perfect you might have a few hollow sounds. You also can’t change directions with the design. Cortec has a great visualizer that will take your room photo and insert the floor choice. That helped us pick the color with our furniture.

It looks awesome, is thicker than the tile it replaced but was pricey at $9 a foot installed. But, no impossible grout lines to clean!! Demo took 4 days, 2500 square feet install took 1.5 days!

@Cynthia I was wondering about that. I just hate every LVP I look at. I love laminate, but it's so slippery for the dogs.

@kayozzy I totally get that concern as I have a 15 year old pup that has trouble getting around. But I'm not convinced that LVP isn't just as slick as laminate.
