roller blinds for side-slide windows?

I'm looking for ideas on for window coverings for short windows (32" H w/ trim) that slide open sideways. They're set in pairs, side by side, so that in each pair the right hand pane slides to the left. The full window (4 panes) is 100" W w/ trim. I wanted to install roller blinds with two blinds on a single headrail, where each independent blind would cover two panes of glass (one fixed and one slider).

Would this cause an issue with keeping the blinds down while having the windows open, like getting fresh air at night? Would the wind bang the blinds around since the blinds operate up-and-down while the windows operate side-to-side? Are there any other suggestions? There is no room to do inside mounting, so they would be outside mounted with 1/2" trim that they would have to extend beyond. I'm hoping to stay away from curtains, though their side-sliding orientation would help get around this problem. I have about 10 days to place my order for window coverings -- yikes!! Thanks for your suggestions!!
