yellow undertoned paint color mistake

Hi! Our trim and ceilings were supposed to be painted Valspar “creme fraiche” but the painters went to Sherwin Williams and had it color matched, and SW got it wrong. They matched to Dunn Edwards’ creme fraiche— way more yellow undertones. The foreman gave us a call to ask us to go look and sure enough…

They definitely need to re-prime before painting the correct color, right? Otherwise those yellow undertones will show through right? 😬. Pics of the two chips below.

What did they offer to do? It just depends on the paint. It might cover the old one with two coats.

That’s why I do my own work. Next time maybe give them the paint.

They both appear to have a lot of yellow in them. Maybe rethink the color.

Thank you— appreciate it! We’ve used Valspar’s creme fraiche in our master bedroom (closet doors, door, ceiling, trim)— it’s DREAMY. It’s such a great white. The digital “chip” doesn’t come close to doing it justice. I find it almost identical to Sherwin Williams’ Greek Villa.
