That glass tile will likely look blue when installed. Is that what you want?

I am not opposed to blue and I know there is a blue-ish tint. But overall it’s grey right? I just want it to look nice and like it will match!! Would a blueish tint match that counter?

Do you have a sample of the cabinet door? there are a lot of whites.

Actually the glass tiles will most likely look green. Would you be happy with that?

Why do you have to pick the backsplash now? Just tell them to paint it the wall color and you can pick something later when you can bring samples to the house.

This is a pic of the cabinet with the counter and with the floor tile. The picture has a regular white subway tile so ignore that obviously. We are thinking if the glass tile would work for this

And I have found pics online of the glass tile Exhale in this color and the pics look blue-ish not green-ish. Not sure how I would feel! I was wondering if anyone has ever used this counter/backsplash combo and if it looks good? Should I stick with a safe regular white subway tile? Or a “crayon” shape? (Similar to subway but pointed at both of the shorter ends). In which case I am pretty sure the builder will do a dark grout. Not sure how I feel about it. Remember I am many states away and have to make a decision!

I just saw your comment chispa- we must pick today because this is a project with a builder. It’s not our own independent project. And we are past the deadline for choosing - we were supposed to have chosen on Friday! 😬

So since I have no possibility of getting the backsplash tile samples next to the cabinet sample and next to the counter sample I really cannot be 100% sure.

I agree with painting the backsplash until you can be there. I was pushed into chosing tile during a Covid lock down. I wasn't sure about it then. Still don't really like it a year later.

Not trying to muddy your choices but that's a lot of gray and off white, it might really look bland with another white or gray basic subway tile. I'd consider a patterned tile that has these colors and maybe some variation. Here's what we did with our gray owl (Benjamin Moore).

Are you limited to a certain assortment of tiles to choose from, or can you pick anything you want?

Can you ask about doing what chispa suggested and just painting the backsplash for now? Unless you are really good with color, the odds are slim in choosing the right white without the cabinet door.

If you must choose, then id say pick a color, not white. The glass reads a cool white in the picture that doesnt look like it would work with your cabinets.

Gorgeous! But it’s not that kind of project and my choices are limited. Not our “dream home” exactly but a vacation home that sometimes we will rent out. So it’s ok to be neutral… but yours looks beautiful! Love!

That glass tile looks a bit bathroom-ish to me. How much are they charging you for the backsplash? If it is less than $1,500 for material and installation I would be tempted to just tell the builder to not install it and keep the money, no credit needed. Would be worth the loss to not have something I hate and would have to demolish next year! Life is too short to live with things you don't love!

With the patterned floor, I would pick a plain counter. And yes, leave the backsplash area painted for now and decide on the backsplash later when you are there and can put possible tile selections against the counter.

I think after all this discussion we will go with that pic that I showed and said to ignore. As thinkdesignlive said. I don’t think it will be too busy. And given the circumstances and the type of property this is and the use I think it will work. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to help me!!

Ask for a grout that matches the tile ... unless you want to highlight the grout pattern.

I’m wouldn’t add backsplash now. Wait till you go again get samples and look at it. Backsplash should be last thing Anyway
