Foliar nematodes. You can compost the leaves if your compost gets hot enough. Otherwise, dispose of the infected leaves.

i would dig it out.. bag it.. and send it to the dump ... and then sterilize your shovel ...

and if you just bought it this season .. i would inform the seller if its not bigbox ... and probably not buy from them ever again depending on the reaction ...

if bigbox.. you might also inform the county Ag office ... as they are selling diseased stock ...

or just ignore it .... i presume you arent selling hostza.. so whats the real risk here???

it actually ebbs and flows over the years ... some bad heat/drought years its like this.. other years.. its barely noticeable ...

Ken, it’s a division from a plant ive had for a long time. this seems to be the only one affected. I’ll dig it up and toss it so it doesn’t affect my other hosta.

Something I learned the hard way is that those fern baskets that are sold everywhere in the spring are often infected with nematodes. Don't hang them over your hosta or anything else that is susceptible.
