Here's a helpful chart for getting the measurements right. I think your lamps are too short and wide. Have you tried the mirror hung vertically?

Can the bed be moved away from the window a bit? It looks crammed over there, and it appears that there is ample space between the bed and vanity.

In your shoes, I would:

• Replace the nightstands with something wood - maybe a small dresser on one side and a round table on the other. They don't need to match, just coordinate.
• Replace the lamps with something less office-y/hotel lobby.
• Lower the headboard.
• Add a larger textural rug. Maybe sisal or jute if you want beachy or a subtle geometric pattern?
• If you want a leaner mirror, get rid of the vanity and place the mirror on that wall with a nice reading chair and floor lamp. You don't need two large mirrors in that space.

You can use a light wood for your end tables, but white would also work. I'd look for some that are wider if you're keeping those lamps, and that give you some storage. A large deep blue rug or a texture like sisal would look great. If you want a large mirror, mount a bigger one over your table to reflect light from the window, but don't use a leaning one that would look too heavy and take up valuable floor space.

I was thinking of a leaning floor mirror. I think beachy vibe is the safest for me right now. The flat is one road away from the beach. I hadn't had any other style ideas for such a small room, where it will still look finished.

Yes I will change the lamp shades - do you think lamp shades or study lamp.

The study lamp might open the room up a bit but I think it might look sparse and abit student vibes?

I really like the idea of a drawer chest on one side and a small table on the other.

Also like to remove the vanity and place the big mirror on that wall with a chair - however, i think I may need the vanity to get ready in the mornings. Any ideas on this.

I'd skip the leaning mirror anywhere. It just isn't the best option for a smaller room. Either put a mirror over the vanity or hang a vertical mirror somewhere if you want it for function. I wouldn't use a study lamp. Two simple matching lamps with white shades would be better, but you can use a larger end table on one side and a small one on the other. This example shows the right sized lamps for the end tables.
