There is an engneered wood flooring with the SPC core used in LVP. I'd choose that.

I've had engineered hardwood in my kitchen for 9 years and zero complaints! We even had a leaky fridge that took a while (months) to figure out why it would occasionally leave a huge puddle on the floor. I worried the floor would warp under there but it still is perfect. other FYI's: mine are glued-down on a concrete slab. and I never use a steam mop.

I've had wood in my kitchens for the last 16 years, no problems. Love it much more than the previous tile floors.

Not to be redundant, but same! everyone warned against it but we have had this floor for a decade and love it. Has survived a leaky dishwasher, several washer breakdowns, and a previous leaky fridge. So don’task me for appliance advice but I’m reliable on flooring!

We've had engineered hickory floors in our kitchen for about 5 years & they look the same as the day they were installed.

I’ve had white oak hardwood in all rooms except bathrooms for decades. No issues. I just had my kitchen floor refinished for a renovation (after 30+years) and it looks fantastic. Tile can be beautiful, but I think my joints would suffer.

I’ve had engineered hardwood in my current kitchen for over eight years and I love it. I’m currently renovating the kitchen in our new home and putting oak floors in to match the rest of the home. The existing hardwood is sanded down and waiting for the new flooring to be delivered and acclimate to the house before stain and top coat goes on.

I can only reiterate other people's experience as I have engineered hardwood installed everywhere except bathrooms where I have marble tile.

Mine have been in use for about 3 years. i haven't had any floods but I did mistakenly leave a cooler bag which dripped and created puddles which I didn't discover until the next morning. I wiped them up with a towel and there are no signs of where the water stood.

I follow the manufacturer's care directions as I use the Bona spray cleaner with a microfiber duster type of mop. Vaccuming often is also important as "grit" is actually as destructive as water.

I do think the quality of the factory finish is important. When I bought my wood I read reviews and went with one that had good reviews for their finish. I also bought 2 boxes which are stashed in my closet (horizontally and climate controlled) in case I ever have to replace any portion of the flooring.
