Our coastal SoCal yards (front and back) are getting new life after being in a state of woe the past several years. We're aiming for mostly Calif. native plants to conserve water and support the birds and other critters.

The backyard is divided into three sections: BBQ/soft seating area (on pea gravel) on the left; a mini meadow of native grasses in the center, and our "farm" with raised beds, mini greenhouse and fruit trees on the right.

The front yard, which faces northeast, has a 50-year-old olive tree on the far left and a large acacia tree on the far right; both are staying. Everything else will be newly installed (in Oct. when it cools down).
