When is it too HOT to plant mums

last modified: 5 years ago

Local Lowes has boatloads of mums in all colors - looks like they just got a huge delivery as it's shelves are all filled.

It's a blistering 91 today but temps will go back down to mid-low 80s . Schedule is slammed so I don't mind buying them now and planting them now then another 2 weeks out from now Labor day is right around the corner. Schools is back in session, etc, etc.

I presume if I go back in 2 weeks, the stock may have -changed- over but the timing of them being grown in the greenhouse may be just all one and the same as the stock I see now. The ones that were on the shelf were -perfect-. Some buds were medium set, some buds were smaller. Not bloomed yet.

Is it too hot or should I wait 2 more weeks
