I don't think your low, narrow horizontal mirror is right for your room. Draws your eye down instead of up. Send the mirror to the bedroom or bath Even this mirror below doesn't draw your eye down.

Beverly, I like the photos you shared and agree with your comments about the mirror and sconces. Also, like the larger scaled chandelier. Seems more in proportion to the dining table and chairs…. Jamie Sue have you thought of doing a feature wall? Such as batten board in an accent color or a wood chevron wall?

I love the look of batten board walls but I don’t think it would go with the rest of the house.

I was thinking of doing a gallery wall of maybe 6 large botanical arts on one of the walls, would that look ok? I’m assuming they would have to be large right?

Botanical prints are a nice traditional touch. I like that idea :)

You could potentially try a plant in one of the corners, try a smaller mirror over the buffet, and try a piece of artwork on one of the other blank walls. Perhaps also try removing the sconces where the buffet is as well.
