Planting today!

First 2 show Mariachi finally situated near the gate at the top of the path. Next 2 show Frozen Margarita planted at the bar with Mojito, Avocado, Cerveza, Grand Tiara, and Atlantis around a fig tree.

Hedychium Dr Moy has been at the bar a long time, but seldom photographed.

I add a couple to this gutter pipe garden. Newbies are Gypsy Rose (old, diminishing), Monster Ears, Chodai Ginyo, and Sun Drop.

Last is dogwood with same colors echoed in lantana flowers.

Impressive gatden! So many beautiful plants! You're wanting me to move to a warmer climate!

Finally, a day off!

It is overcast today and relatively cool. The hostas that are still fully leafed out look lovely in this weather. There is a delicate perfume of sweet olive Osmanthus permeating the garden. To complete the scene of the garden welcoming me back, Lycoris surprised me with 3 flower stalks. No wonder they call it surprise lily (and hurricane lily).

Utog, my garden is going down hill now. I am starting to cut some things back. Every time I see FM I admire it and then wish I had one in my garden and in my hand! Hahaha! Inniswood is so like Golden Standard…….is there a difference to you?

Debra, it has been a tough growing season. I think about 60% of my hostas are declining or dormant. I only photograph the pretty ones.

Surprisingly, I do not have Gold Standard. It just never made the final cut during online shopping, and daren’t purchase it at Lowe’s or Home Depot (HVX). I hear that Paul’s Glory is similar, but I have lost 3 of those already. My rule is that I may try a plant no more than 3 times. Inniswood has a lot of seersucker texture, not much variation in coloration leaf to leaf.

Lycoris

In the HL I can see the corrugation on Inniswood very well. GS can be very corrugated as well, but mine isn’t although it gets the beautiful parchment colored leaves with enough sun.
