Anyone have any thoughts about Leander?

nmartin - have you tried looking at https://www.helpmefind.com/roses/? They have lots of good info/pictures there. :)

Low thorn Leader and low-thorn Wenlock and low-thorn Felicia are the WIMPIEST own-roots among the 18 own-roots I got this year. So far Leander gave only 4 buds (received June 11 as a tiny band) compared to 30 buds EACH for Abraham Darby, Well-being and Parfum de Paris (bought from LongAgoRoses, shipping is cheap at $11 per 4 bands). Even Bolero and Sonia Rykiel gave 20+ buds (received this April as super-tiny rootings)

These are in perfect potting soil & fertilized the same with Osmocote and SOLUBLE fertilizer NPK 17-18-28, plus lime and alfalfa & Tomato-Tone mixed with potting soil. Leander has low rating in HMF:

Below is my 1st bloom of Leander after 1 month of purchase, pic. taken July 14. The scent is good, but not as good as the other more vigorous roses: Bolero, Sonia Rykiel, Abraham Darby, Well-Being, and Parfum de Paris. Bloom is much smaller (2.5 inch) compared to the other vigorous own-roots blooms at 3 to 4 inch across:

Low-thorn roses have wimpy roots which need SOLUBLE gypsum & sulfate of potash for growth, they can't produce enough acid to digest hard minerals in soil. Leander refused to grow until I gave it gypsum & sulfate of potash for root-growth.
