seems your more modern/ mid cent? clean lines may work better for a candle holder?

I currently have a candle holder there but would like a lamp to read by before winter.

Are you trying to avoid another lamp shade? I think something in this shape and scale would work.

I think the general guide is one hard shade and one soft, so here is another idea. But if going with a second soft shade go with a different color.
