paint finish for open concept

I am painting my open concept kitchen/living room/foyer revere pewter. But I’m having a hard time deciding which paint finish to use. My husband loved to fry bacon and occasionally it splatters on the wall to the left of our stove. I normally do eggshell in living room and foyer and satin in kitchen but since it’s open concept I can only choose one paint finish. Should I use Benjamin Moore’s eggshell, pearl or satin finish? Right now it’s for because our builder pushed flat paint when we built 3 years ago and I hate the grease splatter marks on my wall in the kitchen.

I have SW emerald matte and wipe it down frequently with good results. Maybe you can paint a sample of your paint selection in the eggshell/matte on a piece of cardboard and go to town on it to see how it will hold up..? I think satin throughout will be very shiny.. (not my preference). Can you find another solution for the beacon splatter (can the area be tiled, or put something there like a cutting board or similar when frying to protect the wall..)

It might be able to be told. And I agree with you. I don’t like satin in living rooms. The wall behind the stove is tiled so I don’t have to worry about it. It’s just a small piece of wall to the left. I’ll try the eggshell and see if it works.

Make sure you seal the grease marks, so they dont bleed through the new paint.

So far so good. I’ve done egg shell in a couple other rooms and all have been easy to keep clean.
