We used indoor fridges in a semi protected area in our outdoor kitchen in Ny, they lasted 3 seasons before they went kaput. They were about $150 ea. We didnt winterize them or bring them inside, we just unplugged them. We are building a kitchen in Florida protected by a lanai and we shouldnt have freezing or snow so we will use another indoor fridge and see how it works out. We are also putting a dishwasher out there and i think the only danger would be rust. Fridges made for outdoors are $600+ ( at least the ones we looked at) So we will make the lesser investment and see how things work out.

We have a garage fridge in south Florida, it’s hot as hell out there most months of the year and it’s been great for years, not a single issue. I’d say if the area is covered from the elements it should be fine.

It depends on where you live so share that for a bit more help.

Dallas. The fridge will be under the limestone countertop, under a pergola, will never have direct sun on the face of the fridge. “Outdoor” fridge $1300, “indoor-outdoor” about $500.

My guess is it should be fine. But if it were ME, I’d do the outdoor fridge just for the simple fact that I wouldn’t want to be inconvenienced or deal with possible breakdowns or corrosion down the road.

I know. I'm a salesman, and we're the easiest there is when it comes to cost justifying things! Plus, the outdoor fridge dimension is different so would be a pain to switch to one later.

IMO where you are you should be fine with an indoor fridge and honestly for the price if it dies in 4 years you are ahead of the game .

in our oudoor kitchen in the Orlando area we installed a $350 indoor fridge This was in 2006 or 7. Survived multiple bear ”attacks” (opened the door and didnt close) and when we sold in 2015 still going strong House recently resold and still apears to be working Unless u care about the look of a higher end outdoor fridge I would opt for the indooor and see how it goes

Yep, I can buy 3 of the in/out fridges fro price if one outdoor, I think the warranty is 1 year so I think that’s the way to go. Thanks!
