one mirror or many

I have a wall facing my front door, on which I have one round mirror. I am wondering if it will be better to have several smaller mirrors ( like in picture) - thoughts / other ideas?

It doesn't look like your mirror reflects anything beautiful but rather parts of the ceiling, the upper blank wall, a door and shutters. Do you have or want to find any artwork you love, either one large piece or perhaps a small gallery wall. Perhaps a lovely Boston fern or other plant on the table if it gets enough light.

    Hi. Lot's of potential here.

    Could I please see

    1) Photos of all 4 walls of the space

    2) An inspiration photo of what you'd like your space to look like.

While I do need that information to help you, I would say now that

    a) The mirror is too small for the area.

    b) It doesn't appear that a mirror is appropriate for that wall.

    c) Looks like you need an end table and table lamp for that space (end table is moved forward and tripod lamp feels shoved in there).

    Thanks! 😀

Post a pic of the space how will we know anything with no pictures The one you have is useless and reflects nothing worth seeing twice.

Thanks so much. Please show a photo of the wall across from the tv, even if that is open to another area. Thanks.

If that is the best place for the sofa, please turn the end table the other direction. Replace the floor lamp with a table lamp.

    Don't need art.

I wouldn't put art on the fireplace, but would put art over the sofa.

Hang tv and no art above it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Does it make sense to wall mount tv, and put the chaise under it - so that the room is open to kitchen. Also push the couch all the way up to the wall ; and replace the tripod floor lamp with one of those arched floor lamps

I rarely recommend mounting a tv on a fireplace, but in this case, the tv could be mounted low and it appears you don't use the fireplace.

It really is an ideal location for the tv.

    Would you consider that?

I would put a very narrow end table between the sofa and the wall and add a table lamp.

If the dark door is the entrance, that couch needs to move. Take everything out of the corner, slide the sofa to the corner, and find a narrow end table for the side by the door.

I would move couch so it’s right beside wall, remove that small table. Put the tv above fireplace, remove the cabinet the tv is currently sitting on.. Move chaise to where tv is. Add a small coffee table. Also, you’ve got art everywhere except above the couch on that big blank wall. Put your largest piece there. Once you have large art on that wall you won’t need anything on that small wall that faces your front door. Try to keep it simple. You have a lot of unrelated furniture and you need to tie it all together. Removing the side table and tv cabinet will help. Add a pillow and a throw to the chaise in the same colours as your rug and couch cushions. Not sure about a lamp for this room since your furniture placement is tricky. Perhaps add a cabinet under your pass-through with a couple small lamps on the pass-through counter? Hard to say until you have your room figured out.

We might recommend placing artwork over the sofa instead of where the mirror is. We also might recommend removing the mirror for the time being. Here are a few designs with artwork that might inspire you.

    I do plan to

    1. mount the tv over the fireplace
    2. paint the fireplace white
    3. get rid of the tv stand and everything on that side of the room ( including the wall decor)

I think this is a good plan. Prior to painting the fireplace, make sure you have first chosen a furniture arrangement and decor.

I found some photos in your ideabook. Is this the look you want?

If possible, make a L shape with sofa and chaise in front of fireplace. Sofa facing fireplace. That leaves walkway from front door around and through room. TV above fireplace. A low bookcase behind sofa would be nice for storage and possibly a reading lamp. But, if you post measurements of walls doors and openings and length from fireplace wall to opposite wall. Then from where TV is currently located to short wall — then lengths of chaise and sofa — then I could do a scale drawing for you. Save your back! Get some sliders to put under legs of larger furniture for easy movements. The have packages of sliders at Lowe’s etc.

If you don’t have sliders, when you go shopping for them, get yourself a 16’ or 25’ tape measure. Both valuable things to have on hand. Like these. HD has these too.

Thank you for the suggestions. The sectional does not fit in my room ( I can’t open the front door), so I separated the couch part, from the chaise part

So that’s where I ended up on this - thanks for all the suggestions
