@dieseler, very nice pics. You mentioned VdB as having a fantastic taste, and I'm considering it as an alternative to RdB. If you've grown the latter, could you give me a quick comparison between the two. I love the RdB, but find the fruits exceptionally small compared to some of the other berry types that are being highly lauded. More specifically, can you tell me if the VdB is as prolific and hardy as the RdB?

Over the years have had many figs from each and just my opinion Ronde will set more figs and they are earlier to ripen here compared to Vdb.

Vdb seems to be hardier and definitely better on personal palate and sets what i would say average crop of figs.

Have had some since last post .

As season wanes NdB taste good with its mild to medium berry taste depending on ripeness.

Have had the cultivar for 6-7 years but favor Violette De Bordeaux more

on personal palate for it ripens earlier , tolerate rain better and taste better.

Another picture taken the sun this morning was bright one minute then the next it look like it may rain .

Fig was same as last in taste pretty good as weather has been cooperating.

Your looks great. NdB was a very tasty fig for me this season in Virginia.

Since last post 10 days back have been eating the NdB daily and taste is very good just on personal own palate the VdB is tastier.

NdB has always been very good some years better than others depending on the weather that season.
