Like the tile. Great porch. Well done. For the ceiling, use a matte white rather than a high gloss paint. You want it neutral, not something to draw attention to the ceiling beyond having the ceiling fans -- which I very much like..

The tile looks nice. I'd go with a light color on the ceiling too.

The reason Haint Blue is sometimes used for porches in the South (USA) is because it can mimic the sky for some creatures that might otherwise want to build a nest or web on your porch. Your porch post tops don't seem to be exposed so there doesn't seem to be any sites for birds nests. With as much effort (with great result) as you have put into this porch, it is likely you're going to be using it often enough to notice and remove any wasp nest or dirt-dauber nest or spider web, etc. before they become a real problem.

@suezbell - thanks for the Haint Blue explanation! I knew it is a southern thing but thought it had to do only with bug repelling.

Time to paint the BRICK and the ceiling. Sorry, tile is just not a great choice with the deep red brick. The brick also isn't great with the exterior cladding.

Perhaps a pale warm gray on the brick, and a nice clean white ceiling You're in two palettes. Not really playing well together. That's what is bothering you - and you are right.

Take some more pictures ....from several angle and show the entire side with the porch.

The floor is a cool white, the ceiling is a warm cream, and the walls are dark. Unify with a cool white on the ceiling and trim, including the dark wood trim on the brick. Add a rug, a seating area, plants, and it’ll be lovely.

I would get paint samples and match the new tile, then pick a slightly lighter version of the tile color for the ceiling.

@Christian Decor - right that a darker color would be a mistake - I think that woukd make it feel cave like - too dark. I do agree with suggestions to paint ceiling a lighter color & maybe match the tile. I definitely do not agree that you should paint the brick! i see the stairs so assume you have an upper deck or balcony as well & your house must be at least 2 story.

We were heading in this direction…we are realizing that we like dark and cozy and with the dimmable lights, are concerned that a lighter ceiling will “darken” the mood. I will post a few lighter colors next. Choices! 😆

@Christian Decor - what is the dark color in the tile? It looks like grey on whitish ground but cant’t decide accent color in the corners - looks black or dark blue?

Would not paint the brick.

I don’t care for any of those grayish or brownish or bronzish tones. Too dark and dull for me.

I would match the tile color as closely as I could, as you already have plenty of contrast between the brick and the tile. So don’t add more contrast.

Thanks Little Bug. My wife agrees. She made a good point that the furniture wicker will serve as intermediate color.
