they could be trimmed up to allow traffic below .... though they arent the tallest trees ...

do winter winds come howling across from the right side ... that shouldnt be an issue to and established tree.. but could be an early issue with babes ...

they are understory trees in the mountains... is there a reason they couldnt go on the left ... i cant quite ID the big ones on the left.. but with good watering.. you should be able to get new trees established ....

In the photo you are looking west, the fence is to the north. The photo was taken early evening. We are @ an hour west of Kansas City and yes, we get lots of wind, and that would be hard to avoid anywhere on our property. The bigger trees to the south of the drive are a locust, 2 pin oaks and a burr oak. I hadn't thought of putting them there. My first thought is that it would feel rather crowded or closed off, but I'll mull it over some.

i’m located near you. i think your idea would be beautiful. Redbud are cheap so you can always try it. Once they interfer with the road limb them up. Older branches want to drape down, it’s part of their charm. You may find that to be an issue in 5-7 years.
