Okay, I would love for you to be right so i can move on. But a few factors give me pause. 1) I can feel that it’s raised when i run my finger over it and all the other fissures I can see are smooth to the touch. 2) Seems like too much of a coincidence that the only fissure of this type is at the thinnest point of the countertop where they did a lot of drilling and cutting.

Does that change your view? Again, i prefer that it is just a fissure but i want to be sure

@taliaferro It’s called Maldive. It’s a beautiful stone and I think it’s priced in mid to upper-mid level so it’s not crazy-expensive (although it’s really hard to find out the actual price of slabs from the fabricator)

The crack was caused when the plug in the hole let go and the tool slammed into the top, guranteed.

Hit it with a color matched Sharpie, dribble some super glue over the crack, and scrape it flush please. The only other permanent fix is to replace the sink with one with a faucet deck.

Fortunately, if/when it becomes gray/black from contamination, it will look completely natural.
