Love both wallpapers. From what I can tell on screen I like the Chatleston Mist best as it looks very nice with your floors.

Charleston Mist looks like it would be beaufiful in your PR.

I like the whimsey of the birds but wonder about the scale of the birds vs the amount of wall space. I think I’ll have to vote flowers.

I looked them both up …. this picture of the Willow Wading paper makes me wonder if the birds (which I love) are overpowered by the plants. It could just be the lighting, etc, I don’t know.

The Charleston Mist is very pretty and more calm. The lighting is so nice and serene in your bathroom, I think this would be lovely in there:

My vote is for Charleston Mist. The other pattern is a little too active for my taste.

I like both papers but the background of the bird paper seems to skew a little aqua on my monitor. I would like to see them once you take a picture with more sunlight.

Both are very pretty. For the scale of your PR and the view outside, I favor C Mist.

You know your style and what the adjacent rooms are like.

CM — cool, calm and reserved, fresh

WW — pop of energetic color, lively, busy

They are so similar so I think the outcome will have the same effect.

Have you considered going a bit darker/more vibrant for more impact and a window film could be really cute.

I like the larger scale of the bird wallpaper. The floral is very pretty but it seems more suited to a bedroom and is very feminine. A powder room is one of the places in a home where you can go a bit bolder / whimsical with wallpaper than you would in a larger space. I’d put the floral paper i n an ensuite bathroom where I’d be reluctant to use the birds.

How about both? I love this wallpaper(link is below) and I am trying to figure out where to use it! When I looked at your two choices, which I always do to check the repeat of a pattern, I wasn't wild about the floral one. I couldn't find the wading bird wallpaper.

I like the color of the first but not the pattern. And vice versa for the second. I think you are right to keep looking.

I was considering this paper for our beach house bathroom. Comes in a few colorways.

@Sueb20 I have a sample of that paper! It goes back to my scale concern, with that paper not only are the individual birds large, there is a lot of open space There would be few full birds.

The Egrets are fun! I like Under the Sea, too. It makes you want to look closer, and I like the blue in it.

Try some wallpapers in the room to see the effect. IMO your room could safely use a bit more color

I could use the Charleston Mist, it would look very nice, I would be done, but I wouldnt be ”in love” This is one of those ”do I need great, or good enough“ quandaries.

You want great! I like the Egrets, too, but the colors are rather dull for the room. It seems you're getting a feel, though, for more of what you want.

I am ordering a sample of the mermaids. They have whimsy, and more color!

I like the birds better too - the first is a bit too monochromatic IMO, judging by the samples on the wall in the OP pic. Agreeing with Beverly that a bit more color would not be a bad thing.

Also IMO, matchy-matchy can get old...

I like a floral all over, including the ceiling.

The pattern size isn’t correct on these renderings but it gives you an idea of the color. I have to agree with others that my preference is C Mist.

I also added one that is bolder in a pattern that I like.

You said whimsy… I thought about that PR and reconsidered my initial recommendation.

Why not get really playful and suprise whoever opens the door to your PR? Why go for calm convention, when you can have fun?

I know nothing about wallpaper but for years of my parents perusing book upon book of patterns when I was growing up.

They wallpapered by themselves with a door, rollers, tape etc..

Too much work, I decided — for me anyway.

Do you gravitate towards small scale or large scale?

Fill the frame, or space between elements?

Animals? Any type? Florals? Abstract?

What colors?

Aren't you in Maine? I'm somewhat of a traditionalist and I wouldn't use a tropical or color-saturated paper just because a powder room allows you to be bold. It's a Maine powder room.

I like the idea of a colored background rather than a cream background, like the blue-gray paper Emily posted. I like how the creamy white flowers pick up the color of the vanity and window trim while the background matches the floor tile. I wouldn't use that particular paper however.

I’d keep looking too, but wouldn’t give up on the whimsy. With all those smaller wall sections, a smaller-scale pattern might work better without looking chopped up around the doors and window.
