Any reason to avoid firepit as winter garden container?

Hello! We have a gas firepit in the front garden and I'm considering using it as a container for a winter display of evergreen boughs, berries, etc. Any reason not to do this? Has anyone tried/seen this before?

I think using a shallow, inexpensive container buried in the firepit may optimize spring cleanup.

I would LOVE your input.

not quite sure what this thingee is.. how about a pic ... nor what it has to do with spring cleanup ...

and to be clear.. you are sticking dead things in it... right? .,,, not really planting a garden in it??

Go for it! As long as the bottom has drainage, I would. It will look awesome. CAN YOU TAKE PICS? )

Doing a seasonal evergreen floral display in the gas firepit certainly has potential. I'm just trying to figure out why you would shut down a firepit for the winter and why you couldn't burn it in place on Twelfth Night or something festive like that when it is nice and dry.

i dont understand why the fire pit is out front.. and how filling it with something aids spring cleanup ...

and what does it mean to bury something in a firepit ... are you filling it with soil??
