I do not follow your question?

Where the tile changes plane (corners, edges), caulk should be used instead of grout. If you poke it with a fingernail, does it give a little or is it rock hard? If so, it could be that the caulk isn't a great match to the grout. The good news is that caulk can be removed and re-done.

I will check it. I’m assuming it IS caulk in those areas where tile is changing planes because in the flat planes the grout is a great color match. Assuming they can remove the caulk, and do a better job of color matching, do the seams look good to everyone as far as width goes or should I expect a tighter looking joint with less caulk visible?

They should have used caulk matched to the color of the grout.

To me the tile job looks good and the joints look good. The joint widths look good, consistent, and well aligned. I really like the tile choice too. To my eye, what looks like caulk is a little too light and too yellow. I would definitely check with the installer and let him or her know your concerns about the color match.

I'm just curious...what is that hole for...it looks too deep to be a niche and too small to be a seat?

those are miteted edge details likely filled w epoxy.

This is a premium detail and epoxy is permanent.

Olychick…will have 3 shelves in this niche for towels/ etc. shelves will be illuminated. Do you think it’s an issue with the depth? And it’s on the exterior of the shower not interior….

Mint Tile….thank you for the feedback. When you say permanent, because it’s a bad color match, can this be removed and redone? Or are you saying the tile has to be completely torn out and replaced?

"Do you think it’s an issue with the depth?" No, not at all too deep for towels and being outside the shower, it will be great. I just couldn't imagine what it would be used for, assuming it was inside the shower.

I think the joints look fine, the grout color could have been better matched.

I also think the grout clean-up was less than ideal. rather sloppy acutally (especially in the corners)

I'm guessing there were no bullnose or liner options for this tile?

was any mention of a metal edging suggested? Like a Schluter Jolly or Rondec?

Here is an expanded view earlier in the project…they have loaded the room full of supplies because they are doing my floor now so I can’t get a great shot for you in it’s urgent state

I was not involved in the grout choice, the tile person just went ahead and did it. I was not aware of these strips you are referring to, but I wanted as seamless of look as possible and don’t really like those casings that are on the edges like you are referring to.

no one asked you about grout? the tile person "just went ahead and chose one? " huh? is this what the contract specifies? is there a designer or some manager in charge of all of this?

if you didn't want any edging, then you got exactly what you wanted. grout.

It's not a bad job at all, just a sub-par clean-up. look at the back corner. what about the smears on the tile? maybe they weren't finished when this photo was taken?

what about this ledge? is it perfectly flat/level or does it slope towards the floor?

All of those vertical corners should have 100% silicone caulk in a color that matches your grout. ditto on the joint between floor/wall (inside the shower)

what is the width inside the shower? seems narrow from this photo.

While the grout choice isn't horrible, it is lighter than what I would have picked.
