Once I find my computer, I'll give it some thought.

You need to start by sorting through your stuff, deciding what you need to keep and where to put it. I see plenty of storage, under-used shelving and mounds of clutter. Once you've tidied up, you'll be able to see how to better use the space.

We got the house from my grandma who recently passed, grandpa had built it. Most stuff is being put in storage just need ideas for updating and making look nice.

After you've removed everything, post pics inside and out and a floorplan. I'm sure you will get many useful suggestions.

Is this just the basement?
For the pictures you show I would:

Remove wallpaper

Find out if you can open the walls by the staircase

Frame, insulate, drywall.... the cinderblock

Remove the current tile ceilings and do regular.

The rest will be furniture, layout... and how you want to use the space...

By the way, I like the baker’s rack with the wood-look shelf in your laundry area. I hope you can use it upstairs! I have one I got from our local buy-sell group and it’s so handy for some of the cookware I have, and I put the not-so-pretty stuff in the limited cabinet space. Mine has a wine rack that I use for rolled-up placemats. I had a small lamp I put on top with a pink bulb, and it’s a nice glow in the evening.

In our last house, we painted the lower level paneling and the walls in the laundry room the same color, I think we used Benjamin Moore antique white or Navajo white, and it made such a big difference. Brighter, felt more open and cohesive.

I had a big double sink like yours. My handyman wouldn't take it out! He said I'd regret it and then be mad at him lol. Well, I decided I did want it removed, replaced it with a sink base cabinet from Home Depot and white utility sink. While I loved having counterspace and storage and it looked pretty, I sure did miss that workhorse concrete sink. It looks like you have room to keep it, lucky you! It will be especially useful during your remodel.

I have a cat who is quite, um, energetic in his digging, too. A covered box really helps.
