Backsplash color

Opinions on which you prefer? A. Ann Sacks 'herb garden' or B. Sonoma Tile Makers 'Apple'? Also, I can't find any stock photos of A. To help me. Anyone have any? Thanks

first of all: gorgeous! I love all of this.

second of all: have you observed these cabinets in different light throughout the day? I ask because with some walnut finishes, a yellowy undertone can come through during certain times. it might not play well with the greenish tile. so I vote for the blue tile because it will compliment that wood tone no matter what the lighting does to it.

note how the tile reflects off the glossy countertops. it will multiply the color of your backsplash overall. I think the green is going to make everything too warm in general.

the blue looks really beautiful though.

I think you could go either way, whichever one warms your heart. What color grout would go with those? The cabinets are beautiful!

I prefer the bluer one. By far.

    I think the herb garden.

the other one isn't bad, but it's hard to tell without seeing the floor or surrounding colors you have.

Have you checked out fireclay tile? they have a zillion colors, similar to what AnnSacks has. (and maybe less expensive)

Check out the gallery of MCM style kitchens

this color of theirs would be similar to your Herb Garden (and these come in all shapes and sizes)

    the color is Glacier Bay:

Or, this one. the color is Flagstone:

    Neptune

    Lichen

I'm a fan of both - the cool colours create a great atmosphere for the room. If I had to pick I'd go with the blue personally.

    I vote for herb garden.

    Your cabinets are beautiful!

Wow. I love houzz. Thank you everyone... I have been longing for the green because they have some nice shapes but I don't like the 'crackle' effect (personal) AND I'm a big coral/orange fan and the blue goes better (and doesn't result in a 'pumpkin' effect). The Ann sacks ones are so smooth.

another vote for blue. It would be nice to see more of the space. either colour is going to have a distinct presence and affect any rooms the kitchen opens into. Plus, I'd just like to see more of the space - I bet it's lovely.

sounds like blue is the perfect choice for you then!

@Beth H I adore Fireclay but they don't ship to Canada 😕. I love your ideas - thank you!

@wsea -. Very pretty! Thanks for sharing!

@SeattleMCM thank you for the color samples! I'd never be able to do that high tech design photoshopping! @daisychain Zn3b I'll post more photos. Room is white with black, gray and right now, yellow accents. Red oak floors. It's all still a work in progress and subject to change once backsplash aets the tone 😉

Here's the space. Loved in and some design inspiration. House Is 1964. Small but open space to living and dining rooms.

Again. Work in progress. Thank you for your help and support. Sooo appreciated

Thanks for sharing more pics. I really love all of it. I think you could do either, but I am still partial to the blue.

    Another vote for the blue.

I think both will work, but I'm partial to the blue.

I'm super into the green one. I like both a lot, but around 5 years ago there was a lot of walnut/cool white/blue backsplash going on. So i kind of get a "been there done that" vibe from it. Versus the green feels fresh and more interesting. But really can't go wrong with either.

The blue one. Sorry, but the green one is a bit too pea-soup and kibble-dog-barf color! I now feed the dogs a raw diet so I never have to see that color again!

@H2O2 thank you, I am trying for something fresh and clean and a tribute to MCM (without being MCM). I like the green too. Hence the dillema. 🙄. I hate being an indecisive Libra!

@chispa. It's actually brighter in real life, less barfy ;).

@jacobskib - thank you. Just saw your post. I have no idea what grout color I'd use? Likely white? Haven't gotten that far...

Thanks @Maureen. Beautiful tile. Looks like Heath? If so, it's a pain to get across the border to Canada... Can you let me know the name and I can look it up? Thanks!

It is a small area….and it appears you have a lot of natural light…either of your color choices would work…the green relates well to the outdoor views…and is a little more earthy…the blue is a little more beachy

I couldn’t source the tiles unfortunately, but could be Heath.

An unsolicited decor comment… remove table cloth… apply a clear protective coat on the table top… bamboo or any other “organic feel” placemats if needed..add a tray to put the little stuff on
