I have not yet seen the BritBox screening of the 2021 Chelsea show but it seems odd to me that they would focus on US natives.........

They didn’t I was looking up the three plants in the carved out tree stumps. I found the small grass and it led me to a site that no longer sells plants but referred to these folks. Long story I just wanted to know if anyone was familiar with them . thank you. c

Trailrunner I'm sorry you haven't gotten many responses to your question but you may want to be a bit more patient and see who answers. Not only are the forums slower (less participation) than in the past, but it could very well be that folks here just have not used Izel plants. I hadn't answered earlier because I haven't. I never heard of them. I had to look it up. It's an interesting concept and I will be looking through their site more fully over the weekend.

I hope you get some more feedback.

Thanks for bringing up the Chelsea Flower show. I'm no expert on the show but have enjoyed it vicariously through the years, amazing displays! Sorry, I'm not familiar with Izel but would like to share an article from the guardian where they discuss inclusion of prairie plants:

I am very interested in drought resistant perrenials and grasses. I have an 80 ft long by 10 ft deep slope to plant this Fall and then in Spring. I have a lot of tried and true plants already but I really want some new ” faces”! I love plums and deep purples and pinks and white. shots of vibrant unexpected yellows and all grasses.

I saw that! would be perfect as it would have Eastern AM light on my slope!

Sounds like it might be a match! I've tried prairie plants and grasses here in Anchorage AK but our climate has short summers so they tend to try to bloom/mature too late. So, I can't offer personal advice, but have fun!

I've ordered a few plants from Izel, and I received tiny plants that never made it. I don't like that they make you order in quantity either, especially when you only want 1 plant. Nothing that I ordered from them survived,except for one struggling Astilbe biternata plant. That may not be the case with all their plants that they ship. What were you thinking of ordering from them? Since my purchases, I've become friends with one of the owners, so I'll make sure I get decent plants if there ever is a next time. I also ordered a few Stenanthium gramineum from them and, they withered away too. They were top of my bucket list. They do often have species that nobody else has.

Very adventurous, Trailrunner... sorry the smoke didn't allow your ride, maybe that was 2019 when July and August were so hot and dry and the smoke was awful. Luckily, we've now had a couple of summers that are back to normal with enough rain and I hope you make it back up, lots of biking to be had!

Just ordered in Sept August with planned delivered for this week. The plants were perfect... Healthy, super well packed, arrived as scheduled. I'm zone 6 NW RI doing the fall planting for 2022

Hope you connect with your native plant providers it would plant societies. You'll find some neat stuff to fulfill your vision. I've been amazed and just recently abandoned buying cultivars. Nothing's getting pulled out but what a great excuse to add add add

I think Izel plants is a complete rip off. They charge $5.50 or more plus shipping for grass plugs when I can get quarts for $7.00 from a local source. I thought that they were in it to make natives more available to people, but they are money grubbers.
