I would say remove the piles of things under the bedside stand, under the bed, on the little wooden chest and on the sofa but I think you are a teenage girl and clutter is what teenagers seem to like. Sorry if I am wrong about that. I would remove the paper chains hanging from the picture and space out the 3 red landscape photos above the bed. Then I would add more color to the room - bed cover, more colorful art, curtains, paint etc. Your room is basically brown and white now and could stand some other colors. Another suggestion is too make your bed cover longer on all sides so that your sheets don't show - and if the bed cover came to the floor on all sides you could still put things under the bed cause they wouldn't show.

Add a colorful throw rug. I'm guessing you can't remove the gray industrial carpeting, but see if your parents can get you a colorful rug with earth tones to place on top. Also consider changing the bedding to incorporate the same colors.

Hanging a large colorful fabric on the walls, or even draping it across the ceiling (like a canopy or a parachute) is a quick and cheap way to create a cozier space. Plus a fabric wall hanging behind the bed fame would really highlight your pretty metal headboard too. (right now it fades into the white wall behind it.)

A few house plants (get those that can handle low light conditions) are also inexpensive, as are scented candles (the big chunky kind for high impact) and are items which can "up the cozy".

Pull the white bed spread down at the foot of the bed so it covers the striped sheets better (better to expose your pillows at the headboard than the mattress at the foot of the bed) and get one of those fuzzy throw blankets to toss at the end of the bed. Maybe a few pillows to prop up against the headboard if you're not out of money yet. Then curl up with a good book, light a candle and enjoy that great view you have! :-)

If you can, position the bed to the center of a wall preferably on the wall you face when you enter the room. Add nightstands on both sides with lamps and something larger over the bed. Add a skirt to conceal what is under the bed. Add pillows and pull comforter down so that it covers the mattress. Tyr that then post a new photo for more suggestions.

in a word, paint

If not paint, then a new comforter. Visually and mentally, they will give the biggest bang for your dollar. :)

i would start with moving your furniture around, center the bed add colour to the walls by simply hanging a painting or art above the bed, add cushions a colured bedspread and bed skirt and if you can new drapes that match the bedspread and cushions then top of with a simple rug. move the seat to the opposite wall. then see

Definitely some good suggestions above. I would like to add ... bring your artwork lower on the wall - if it's in your line of vision when you are IN BED, it will feel more intimate.

Amy has the least expensive idea for greatest impact - paint those walls( violet?)! I will also suggest a bedskirt to make the bed look more inviting and hide the storage below. You have an absolutely incredible view, so I will suggest something to enjoy the view differently - placing the bed midroom, facing the door, and back-to-back with the sofa, facing the view. When friends come over, your sitting area is then made more private, and when you wake up, the sun is streaming over the bed rather than in your eyes.
