Trying to pick hardware for two wooden replacement windows in a 1915 home. The rest of our double-hung windows use recessed sash lifts and as we have replaced windows here or there, we've stripped and reused the original hardware. We are now replacing two bathroom windows--one in our original bathroom, which doesn't currently have any hardware (something I didn't even notice until we had to decide what to use on the new one, so apparently that's been working fine for years!) and one in a new bathroom that is replacing a casement, so we can't pull hardware from the old window.

We can either get similar-but-not-quite-the-same reproduction recessed lifts to try to match the rest of the house, or switch these two windows to another type of sash lift so that they match each other but not the other windows. These are the only two bathrooms in the house and both will have obscure glass so they will already look different. I'm open to using anything that will look appropriate and work well. (These windows also won't have shades like the other windows, which makes the recessed lifts a bit less necessary.)

What are your favorite types of sash lifts? The smaller window is 30" x 42"--should we just leave it hardware-free, or add a lift? Thanks!
