i dont see anything i would call rot ...

but i do see a very dry rootball ... i would have watered it deeply a few weeks in advance of repotting ... and use moist new media ... so that the plant was 'full of water' .. before the roots were disturbed ... but thats all hindsight now ....

if you want info on the leaves.. perhaps showing us the leaves might help ...

i hope its repotted soon ... i would probably score the sides 6 or 8 times around the whole .. rough the sides up and work some new media down the side of the pot ...

it will be extremely stressed after that.. not hungry.. no fert until next spring.. or whenever it shows a new flush ...

all plants shed leaves .. usually the oldest.. and it often related to seasonal change in light patterns ... in other words.. its fall and the sun is weakening.. especially indoors ....

dont know where you are.. but after the repotting.. full shade outdoors if its going to stay out there for a while .... no extra sun stress ...

Thanks. i had about 3 bottoms leaves shed now, the most i had fallen so i had gotten a little worried (added a photo). im hoping it was the weather changing and we are going into another season. this plant lives indoors

Let me guess, it looks like what happens to MG potting soils outside in the sun, they become extremely hydrophobic and resist watering, you can be standing there all day and watering it in a monsoon and it'll still be dry, not any rot, too dry for that! Basically, I think your plant was potted in peat moss or close to it. I know it's not ideal to transplant now, in autumn, but this won't go away without improving the soil's ability to retain water and then dry.
