Thank you for sharing Lisa, I have been drooling over Pam’s Choice for years now. Not many pictures to be found.

Lisa, this has me stumped for words. Kristine's words - antique and romantic, are perfect.

I'd want her in a pot on the porch or patio so I wouldn't miss any of the subtle changes in the petals. The center stripe on some of the petals is charming, like a clematis. It's fascinating that one of her parents could be Lavender Pinocchio - a tender rose I love, but was unsuccessful at growing. Her coloring surpasses any other rose of this sort, in my opinion. I wonder how she does in a cold climate.

I love it too! Although it's small, the bloomings are so fascinating. Mine is in part shade and still doing very well. Healthy, Long lasting, and rain tolerant.

I agree with flowers, I would want this one on my deck right outside from my dinning room so that I could see it all of the time.

It IS a unique and pretty rose, isn’t it? I’ve always liked tan/coffee/mauve roses like Pam’s Choice. I also have and enjoy ‘Silver Cloud’ Ralph Moore 1990. The blooms are similar in size and they both bloom (for me) in clusters. The blooms are the loveliest color in the cooler temps of spring and fall. I wish I had a good pm shade spot for Pam’s Choice, but those are in short supply, thanks to the new neighbors big tree removal.

I agree with Straw and Kristine, “unique, antique and romantic” describe Pam’s Choice well. It makes a nice cut flower, although I sometimes struggle to find something (from my garden) to use with it in a vase. I really appreciate a rose that doesn’t get too large, sin since I have limited space. My plant is at least 5 years old and still a manageable size, 3-4 feet with pruning. It never throws out crazy long canes, remaining compact and tidy.

Your picture is lovely, Feiy Lo! Pam’s Choice puts out lots of blooms, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, I was out of town before I cut these. I came home to find most of my Pam’s Choice blooms already spent. I’m glad there were still a few left to enjoy.

Paul, I’m truly sorry for the loss of your sister. I actually wondered who Pam was as I took the photos yesterday. I too, am glad she got to see this one and know that it was named for her. I’m also happy to finally know the story behind this special rose’s name. Lisa

My heartfelt condolences, Paul. What a painful loss. She must have been so proud of you and your roses, and thrilled to have one as a namesake. Roses, more than any other flower, are most appropriate memorials.

@Diane Brakefield @Lisa Adams @flowersaremusic z5 Eastern WA Thank you for that. My sister suffered horribly in the last decade of her life, so I can't be too sad that she's gone, because her death was a release from suffering. She wished for it often.

Thankfully, Paul has no social impairment, Henry. I'm sure he knows more about HD than anyone on this forum. I always think of Woody Guthrie when HD is mentioned. I have seen his son Arlo in concert 3 times. Bob Dylan was trying to imitate Woody with his singing and he did alright too.

I’ve just received Pam’s Choice from RVR and would be interested to know more about her growth habits from those who have had this rose for a while. There are lots of pretty pictures on HMF but not many bush shots or discussion.

Here she is just after unboxing, in addition to this bloom she has another and two buds about to pop 😊
