Glorious indeed! Later this week, typical October weather will return, but the first half has been remarkable. I fear that this kind of weather is part of more general volatility and aberration that has plagued much of the country. Such a prominent throat/eyezone on Silky Twilight! Northern pictures do not show it so striking.

True about the weather I think. We are in mid 80s this next week which is typical but the following week will be in the 60s-again typical cool down in October. What has helped is a lower humidity. And I think that is the reason for the enhanced color on Silky Twilight. Although pretty on first bloom, it is always pale and muted. I like rebloom better!

Beautiful pics Kate and nice to see your reblooms. My goodness your garden is lush. I thought the first pic of the mushrooms was a turtle LOL. Here we are bouncing between 70's and 60's which is okay by me. Getting plenty of rain to keep the garden watered. We did have a crepe myrtle tree planted by the garden center so that is the last tree planting for this year.

Beautiful reblooms! The foliage on your daylilies and other flowers looks so lush and green. It must be all that rain you've gotten this year. What a gorgeous shot of Memphis. Mine put on a fabulous fall rebloom show last year, but decided not to rebloom this year. Others that usually rebloom in that side garden in September and October have not scaped either. I love the last photo of the fall sunset!

Thanks Julia. What color crepe myrtle did you get? I love all the different varieties. I thought the same thing about that mushroom!! I always carry my phone when riding around the gardens-never know what one might see!! Last year I had those beautiful red mushrooms but they are not showing this year. Here is another one of the brown ones-it looks like a seashell!!

Debra, I moved Memphis this year after you kept posting pictures and mine was in such a poor spot. It flourished in its new place and multiplied well. This is the last bloom today on the rebloom scape.

And I forgot to post my firecracker plant. It is a fall bloomer and adds color to the garden.

My goodness Kate, showing off again! so many lovely blooms this late in the season. It makes me long for spring already.

Kate: We got the Tuscarora variety. We saw so many in the area in bloom and they are gorgeous and bloom a long time. Hopefully we don't lose this one.It has many buds that have not opened and I doubt we will see any open. Next year and we've already put up fencing around it to prevent the deer from going after the bark. Dang deer. I did spray again and it seems to be working.

We have many mushrooms here but the white variety. Some small others very large. How unique your mushrooms are. Still looks like a turtle shell to me LOL. And we have turtles here. Nearly ran one over a couple of months ago with the lawn tractor but what lovely colors they are.

Beautiful daylilies. Silky Twilight has such a pretty color and the form on Memphis is right up my alley. The Mushrooms are interesting too..........We've had our normal Oklahoma weather, which means unpredictable. Drought for weeks now, high temperatures and then Sunday a tornado passed by. It flipped many of my flower pots ruining the plants and flattened some of my tall late season perennials which I am now going to try and resurrect.....................Maryl

Kate: What a cute little turtle. I bet it likes the garden to eat the bugs. The ones we get here are big with varied colors on the shell.

Today my husband spotted these mushrooms but thought they were at first flowers till he looked more closely. .Not sure what type they are. Mostly I see white here. Must be something in the soil.

Sherry, these blooms just keep going! we have had record setting warm temps so I am sure they won’t stop until frost unless I cut the scapes.

Julia, I got us so off topic with our mushrooms!!! I put your picture through my phone plant ID app and it identified it as (get ready!!!) Bondarzewiaceae (you can impress people at your next party with that info!!!)
