I bet it could look really nice if you painted the whole thing white. Vents would be blended in.

I’d whitewash the stone and then paint all the vents and surround to match.

I like the stone colours. I'd paint the vents similar to the stone, and paint the brass black.

Paint it and the drop ceiling black.

I would paint brick white and brass black.
