LED shop lights at Sam's Club are from Honeywell listed at 5,000 Lumens, 50 watts, very bright and $20. Oh, and they are super lightweight compared to fluorescent fixtures. I am in the process of changing out 90+ T8 lights to LED - probably have done 20 so far. I did that just a few years ago when I changed out my old T12 lights to T8. It took me 3 to 4 years to change out the T12 lights but I want to accelerate changing to LED - maybe 10 to 20 a month until I am done. LED lights 4 years ago were around $60 which was too high to justify. Now as the T8 bulbs burn out or the ballast quits working, I found changing the fixtures out to LED made sense for all the reasons listed above.

I would not worry about all those specs unless you are growing high light type plants (orchids?) Most houseplants respond very well with these new LED shop lights.

Top shelf is LED while the one below it is T8. A picture doesn't do LED justice but seeing the differences in person will make you a firm believer.

I have ordered T8 lights from Amazon in the past when Home Depot was out. I liked the idea of getting them delivered to the house and free shipping with Prime but I think I could only order 10 at a time back then. I almost ordered some LED lights from them a few weeks ago when Sam's supply of LED lights were out of stock. Even Home Depot was out of stock - they were selling them for $5 more. I see that I could order them online from Home Depot for a 2 pack for $61 which is too high to me.

Here is a light cage I made last year for my taller growing plants - 4 LED lights hung from a 7 foot tall, 6 foot long, 4 foot wide wooden frame using 2x2 furring strips.
