This fireplace is a pre-manufactured fireplace by Lennox (if I recall properly). Please refer to their website. They may have recommendations on interior one side exterior the other. We had planned one interior-exterior "see thru" for our 130 33rd St project, but ditched the interior component during the design refinement process. But we believe it would have worked.

That being said, we ARE here in Southern California and the glass doors these pre-manufactured fireplaces come with are not meant to be a true thermal breaks from exterior to interior. I would suspect if you're in a more normal climate with bigger outdoor temperature swings, it may not be wise to do. But here, we can get away with it.
