I would also leave them there. The otherwise naked soil surface of a Dracaena tree is a great place for smaller plants.

Maybe Cystopteris fragilis? Could you please start including the location in the future.

Jay, I'm in NY, but I figured the fern spores came with whatever potting mix my sister used, and who knows what that could have been. Re me ripping them out, I've let them live this long because I think they are pretty! But... in my outdoor gardening, I've had to deal with an over-run of Sensitive fern, and what I think was Lady fern -- and now I'm dealing with Ostrich fern. ugh! The only ferns that haven't turned into monsters for me are my Japanese painted ferns. I love them... at least so far. lol!

I'm looking at images for Cystopteris fragilis, and I'm not quite sure if it's a match. I'm trying to remember exactly when these ferns showed up, but I'm certain it's been well over a year, or maybe even two. Cystopteris fragilis has very evident spores, but I've never seen noticeable spores on these ferns... would I?

Update for photos: I now have these cute fungi growing in the pot. LOL!!! Should I remove them?! I can't wait to see what shows up next. And.... I *FINALLY* got a decent close-up of a frond, so I can see it looks exactly like Cystopteris fragilis! Thank you! I'm keeping the fern, since you all seem to think I should. I figure the mushrooms came from some rotted wood in the potting mix. Perhaps the ferns did too. Once that food source is gone, those mushrooms won't be back. Right? lol!

Fern and fungi spores are floating all around us just awaiting the right conditions. You see them in cities in drain pipes, subways, on builings under dripping gutters, in fact anywhere with right amount of moisture and light.

I've never seen a mushroom growing in drain pipes, subways, etc. I've only seen them grow in lawns (or potted plants :) I was once told that mushrooms usually grow in lawns where tree roots are dying, like after a tree has been cut down, and that each mushroom prefers a certain tree host..... the 'decomposers' in the article.
