Hi Lisa. The link worked for me today. Thanks for re-posting. Your Meyer tree looks very healthy and the Mandevilla vine looks beautiful. I grow Mandevilla vines in the summer. One of my favorite flowers. I like the way the combination in the pot looks together and they seem to be getting along well. Long term I am not sure. They will both obiviously compete for food and light. On the plus side they Mandevilla might provide some shade. Other people might have some thoughts here. Generally speaking on the forums the further North someone lives the harder it is to overwinter citrus indoors. The reason is the colder the winter the lower the indoor humidity and the lower quality of sun. I don't think you will have any problem overwintering in SC. Your winter is shorter, sun warmer, and you can maintain a higher indoor humidity. You could buy a $20 infrared thermometer from Amazon and check the leaf temperature. Your situation doesn't call for a heating pad. If you elevate the root temperature your increasing all plant activities which requires more light. Keep an eye that you have not brought any spider mites or mealy bugs inside with the plant. I don't know what your tap water is like. Currently I am using distilled water. The chlorine in tap water can cause issues. Have attached a VPD chart. You want to keep your VPD in the flower-vegetative range. Citrus trees will drop up to 98% of their fruit. Don't be alarmed when this happens. The leaves look very healthy and they should not drop. You can mist the plant with distilled water. Indoors it is almost a given that you will have spider mites at some point. Spider mites don't like higher humid so misting keeps them at bay. I would not mist with tap water as the leaves won't like that. If things are going well the leaf temperature and humidity should be in the flower range. The VPD of the room humidity and the ambient air temperature are probably good. Compare that to the VPD using the leaf temperature (measured with infrared thermometer) and the room humidity. If the window or the lamp create a leaf temperature above the flower-vegetative VPD you will have leaf drop. The problem indoors is air flow. You have no wind to cool the plant. Artificial fans can cool the plant but also dry the plant out. You have to be careful with adding too much airflow. Lets say the leaves are 95F in the window and the humidity is 50% you would have a high stress VPD of 2.81.
