Tranquil Master Bedroom Ideas

Thanks to Covid we are desperately wanting to make our bedroom feel like a tranquil resort-like retreat.

The walls will be painted SW Pure White (bedding is white with mint/turquoise/navy accents) but I don’t know what to do with this wall/dresser/chair. I’m not sure how to centre it and what kind of wall art to try. Would it work to do a full size mirror on the right side? Any ideas welcome!

We will eventually be replacing the carpet with hardwood. The rest of the house is transitional style. The space between the foot of the bedframe (which has drawers so I don’t know if we could add a bench) is awkwardly big.

Your bedroom is pretty much a blank canvas to do with as you like. I would begin by thinking about your style, colors that you like, furniture placement and other fundamentals. Then search the web for "tranquil resort-like master bedroom" to find images that inspire you. I would try not to limit yourself and to think beyond what you normally might. Think of your bedroom as more than just a floor, walls and ceilings. Good luck!

Do you sit in the chair? If so, add a floor lamp. If not, let's rethink the setup. More photos.

Remove popcorn ceiling
Add new light
Paint
Add crown molding
And maybe a small sofas in place of the chair.

One pic is not worth anything in this case . More pics and for sure of the bedding and IMO a white bedroom might be tranquil or not depending on so many other things.IMO change the flooring and then choose a wall color .

If still interested, just general feedback, given can’t comment on your room specifically without seeing more of room.

You did reference white walls which really opens up a lot of options, but the bedding color scheme may not feel calm/retreat like. Bedding is such a big factor in setting the tone: 3 L’s - light, lux, layered.

If room is large enough, add a cozy sitting area with comfortable chairs.

Consider as well, ceiling and nightstand lighting, art, light drapery.

The best thing you can do is look on line - Pintetest, Houzz, Instragram for master bedrooms that appeal to you and the components that bring room together.

Thank you for all of these awesome ideas. Will update with more photos. Just have had to put a hold on everything for a few months with all that is going on with the pandemic.
