i wasn't sure of the prints yet but maybe you're both right - i'll leave as is for now. (@tartanmeup, my kids will never close the lid so this is my reality)

You let your kids into that gorgeous bathroom, lol? I'd be hesitant to cover that paper up with art, too. But if you decide to, I'd do larger than 8x10, center one over the toilet and another centered to the left in the blank space. Large enough so they can be centered but equidistant from the corners. Or center them in the blank space, stacked.

A few small mirrors or two large prints would help balance that wall, as I think the large empty space is akward. By only adding prints above toilet it will only highlight the space even more. Another way would be to add something there. If going that route, suggest waiting to choose/place items on wall.

I was going to suggest exactly what Lynartist posted. Perfect. Find a way to encourage your boys to do the proper thing. Close the lid. A little discipline builds good male character. Future wives will love you for it! Lol

I would definitely want art in there. A layered look that will be an enhancement, not a distraction. Something(s) you enjoy looking at.

Good art will not take away from this lovely background.

It would be different if it was a wallpaper that had a theme/story/actions, like this:
