We did that in our previous kitchen and it looked great!

I don't think all handles is too much (I did it; lots of folks on the discussion board have done it).

But there's absolutely nothing strange about using pulls on base cabinets and knobs on uppers. Or knobs on doors and pulls on drawers. A lot of people mix it up, too. It depends on what you prefer functionally and aesthetically.

Were any of your lowers cabinet doors? Did you put cup pulls on the doors? My lower cabinets are a mix of doors AND drawers. I think what I’ve seen more typically is knobs on doors and pulls on drawers.

you're right about the clothing getting caught. we had really minimal drawer knobs -- barely flared at all -- and they still got caught on my husband's pants pockets. constantly. annoying and dangerous.

would be ideal if the knobs have a little "poker" on the back so they can't turn. otherwise you might be straightening them often.

I like pulls on everything.

Some people have a hard time opening with a knob.

Long term living with knobs COULD become a problem, something to think about.

I think it would look fine! I have stacked cabinets for my uppers and I thought it would look too busy if I had pulls on all those doors. So I have knobs on all my uppers. My lowers are mostly drawers and I have pulls on all of those. I do have knobs on the doors under my sinks, but it would have looked fine to have pulls on those doors instead.

It will look great. My uppers will all be knobs and all my lower drawers will be pulls. I think I have a couple doors on the bottom and they might be knobs but those cabinets are under the backside of the island and below the wall oven, not in the way of pockets.

I have knobs on doors (which are mostly upper cabinets, but I have an under-sink cabinet and island with doors) and two sizes of pulls on drawers (all on the bottom, of course.). The main issue with knobs being comfortable is getting adequate projection, which is crucial when someone in the house has large hands. Finding a pull that came in the two sizes I needed was the harder part!

Your conbination for pulls and knobs is fine. I chose all pulls for my kitchen, and am very happy with my choice.

I did T knobs on all of my stacked small cabinets, 6” pulls on all 42” upper cabinets and a mixture of sizes depending on width of drawers below. A 18” drawer doesnt need the same size pull as a 36”drawer also steer clear of the clothes ripper pulls. good luck

@M Riz Thank you! Do you have any trouble wirhyour T-knobs rotatibg out of alignment? I hadn’t really thought about it possibly being a problem until someone mentioned it. i could see that being annoying if they are supposed to be vertical and they all end up twisting off vertical a bit

My home isnt completed yet we have 1 month to go. They look like there could be a problem spinning if they were loose but mine are way up there over my regular cabinets. Less of a spinning problem lol. If they are tight enough it shouldnt be a huge problem, at least not enough to give up knobs you like. You may have to adjust them occasionally, not a big deal for me.

I'm a kitchen designer and do that combination A LOT! Especially with flush/beaded inset cabinetry....handles look "too heavy" on the uppers. So a lot, to me, depends on the overlay and style of the cabinets, the height of the upper cabinets etc.

Basically, I assess each kitchen based on it's style and size. For instance, The only time I would do all knobs is in a cutesy cottage kitchen.

I just put knobs on cabinets and coordinating pulls on my draws and I love it.

I had a habit of getting my hand caught in the cabinet pulls in my old kitchen.......I can be a klutz that way...........and I love not having to wrench a knuckle getting a glass.

I’ve done 4 kitchens and agree that mixing it up is fine. And I strongly agree with those who commented on the evil clothes ripper pulls! Took me a while to figure out why several pairs of pants had tears in exactly the same place.

I have pulls on drawers, knobs on cupboards. However, we have a vacation house and put knobs on all (cost and ease of install). I prefer the pulls/knobs, but have had no problem with either.
