decor for above computer wall

Looking for suggestions on how to decorate the wall above the computers. So far I love where the office is going, planning to change curtains and replacing the hutch with a taller bookshelf in the same stain as the desk. Lost with how to tie the 2 halves together( I don’t think I want art across from my statement piece art) ! Thanks

What about a large framed mirror hung horizontally over the desk space? Will bounce more natural light, make the room feel bigger, fill the wall and not steal the thunder from your art! Personally I loved the square ikea Hemnes 43"×43" in white but that's been discontinued. But you get the idea! side note, I highly recommend Flanking each window with its own pair of curtains to make it more symmetrical.

Why not put the computer desk against the long wall instead of partially blocking the entry to the room? I think it would look better? Then you could put shelves along that wall.

When you say two sides, I think it feels very much like that, especially with the rug‘s placement, creating even more of a division.

Before deciding on what to place on wall, wondering if you tried your desk further back/centeted, two chairs in front and rug laid horizontally.

Another idea is adding wallpaper that complementes your art and a larger rug centred in room to ground room. Could wait to see if paper is enough before hanging anything.

Room could be eye catching, even if you only did one wall.

Finally, in regards to wall, if keeping as is, two ideas below, but if you search home office decor on Pinterest, you’ll see lots of ideas.

    Maybe display shelves.

    Maybe office cabinets

    Maybe picture ledge

I would turn the carpet, pull in color from the painting on the drapes and add a light to the far wall to give the room some balance.

I think tongue and groove vertical or horizontal.
    Or wallpaper
Or wall molding - board and baton 3/4 up the wall.

Update with the rug layout change

A larger rug and french doors would be awesome!

Rug is brand new- does it look horrendously too small? Otherwise I need to pay for the shipping back 🤮

I think your desk looks awkward facing the doorway…..I would rotate it so that the desk faces the 2 chairs, which I assume is clients or visitors? Then see how the rug works with that. I would put some soft color on the wall to warm the space up and patterned or textured drapes with plenty of fullness.

    Update:

Ordered and received the larger rug……WAY BETTER

We think the larger rug works much better in the space. We thought it might be nice to share some of these offices we have completed over the years. Perhaps take note of the artwork and other decor we have in them.

Looking for suggestions: I really like this mirror set to go on the wall directly across from the artwork. Wondering if you think I should add sconces to flank the mirrors( if so, of those suggested what do you think works best).

Also want to note I have been considering an electrical sconce with not actually hooking it up

    More sconces

Taped out the mirrors to visually compare

I think I’d skip the mirrors.
    Maybe add wallpaper instead.
